Weddings - June 2006

First I have to say thanks to everyone on this website- it's been a ton of help since places like the knot and other wedding sites cater to rich couples or parents I should say. Me and my FI are paying for the whole wedding. I want a wild and fun wedding but I am having a stroke everytime I see the price of a receiption. I am going to start checking out Firehall but if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear it. I am trying to keep it $50 dollars a head and we gotta have open bar- hey we're irish and german! And I am tacky tacky tacky so if you know anywhere that still has the metallic wallpaper and 70's decor let me know!! I tried Adelphias but it was 120 per person plus tax and graduity!! Wow, they must have to charge extra to keep the neon lights in the bathroom on :)

If you have your wedding ceremony, then afterwards at the reception people bring you gifts, when do you open them? At the reception? Or later after it is over? I heard that you are supposed to wait because opening them in front of people who did not bring gifts would be rude. But I was just wanting to make sure. Thanks!

The bridal party has gone together to get the bride and grrom a very nice gift that none of us could have afforded to give them alone. Should we present it to them at the bridal shower or the wedding rehearsal evening. The men will not be at the shower and their money is involved. I don't want the bride to think none of her bridesmaids got her a shower gift. What do you think we should do??

I was once engaged with the girl of my dreams we were suppose to be getting married this summer, than all of a sudden she gets up and moves away, to a whole different city, we still talk alot on the phone and mail and email. she says she still loves me, but just can't be with me right now, she says she will still marry me. My question is should I wait for her to come around or should I just cut my loses and move in. I did everything for her, i even moved to the darn city she wanted then she leaves me hear and I don't know anyone. grrrrrrrrrrr.

I like eggs but that does not matter now if you really think about it. I have had issues with talking squirrels that sing long and loud Enimem songs in my back yard tree in my back yard. When the mail man comes it is a woman and she sees me in my scuba diving suit sitting on the garage roof reading stories to my imaginary angel and friend Roberto. Why does people hate things they do not know about. That is the answer now is it - or isn't it. I have hair on my back that tastes like hot popcorn. I can feed the world and stop starvation with my back hair. I got to help people out and kill that singing squirrel in my front yard. Here comes a man to my front door with a cape on and wearing a soccer uniform. Got to go.

i can't believe how expensive wedding photos are! what is a way to get good quality pictures at a low price? Trying to stay under $3,000 for everything and most places want 1,000 just for picts.

I have wedding invite for husband & me. Husband will be working. Is it ok for me to just attend the wedding ceremony & not the reception? Can I tell her this on RSVP card? I am going to get married in 2 months time. I want to prepare myself for first night with my new wife. Please tell how should I handle the situation. . Can I talk about both of ours family. My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all?
