Hi hon! Nothing weird about it...nothing wrong with new ideas. Now...you don't want to wear a ring or you don't want one period? If you don't want to wear one on your finger, what about around your neck or drop a hint you'd prefer earrings. If you don't want anything-great for him! :P I think cupcakes are a fab idea. I'll never marry but if I did, I'd want donuts! :P I like your idea better though. :P

I think it's kind of unusual to not want a ring, but I don't think it's weird in a bad way. Rings are nice because they're a symbol to other people that hey, you have a commitment to someone else. A lot of girls are way too focused on the ring, though, and some would be really upset if it wasn't big enough or something. And the cupcake thing - I think it's a cool idea. After my ceremony, I had some food for people who weren't invited to the reception, and I didn't exactly get a tier of cupcakes, but we did have cupcakes set up on stands. Quite a few people are doing cupcakes lately, and I like it - it's fun and cute but can still be pretty, and it's easier than cutting cake and all that.

It isn't weird. I expected at least a 2 carat princess cut ring in white gold or platinum, but I'm engaged and my fiancee can't afford a ring. If you get engaged to someone without a ring that shows just how much you love them, it doesn't mean that you have lower standards - plenty of celebrities don't have engagement rings, they just go all out with the wedding bands. Also having a bunch of cupcakes that follow the traditional shape of a wedding cake is something that is done more frequently than many would think.

I used to say I didn't want a ring, but I was only 18 at the time, now I'm 25 and want a Tiffany's engagement ring. It's all about the standards the guy sets for you. The cup cake idea is really nice, I've seen several weddings that have done. Good luck!

I don't think its weird, different but not weird. Remember Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton didn't wear rings, that tatooed a "ring" around their ring fingers.

I like the cupcake idea. The whole idea about weddings is to create orginality.

Is it weird that I not only want a huge ring, but a couple million in cash and a huge amaretto cake?

yea, kindof. it's not about how big it is or what it looks like. it could be a plain gold or silver band. the ring is a representation of his feelings for you, and also a way for people to know that you're taken. it you'd prefer, a lot of women wear the ring around their neck on a chain.

Yeah, that's weird. That's the only real reason any women gets engaged.
