I am contemplating between the traditional wedding song to walk down the aisle or would another song be good. Any ideas?

I walked down the aisle to Ave Maria sung by Andrea Bocelli, because I like the song and my husband really likes it. I also knew that if we played the traditional song, the words “Here comes the bride, big, fat, and wide” would be playing in his head, not because he thinks I'm fat but because he’s heard it that way too many times. You know your fiancé and whether or not that could be a problem. Whatever you choose, pick something meaningful to you. I love songs that just heighten the emotion of those moments walking down the aisle. Some other traditional choices are:
"Air" (from Water Music Suite), (George F. Handel); "Bridal Chorus" (from Lohengrin), (Richard Wagner); "Canon in D" (Johann Pachelbel); "Procession of Joy" (Hal Hopson); "Rigaudon" (Andre Campra); "Spring" (from The Four Seasons), (Antonio Vivaldi); "Te Deum" (Marc-Antoine Charpentier); "The Prince of Denmark's March" (Jeremiah Clarke); "Trumpet Tune" (Henry Purcell); "Trumpet Voluntary" (Jeremiah Clarke); "Trumpet Voluntary" (John Stanley); "Wedding March" (from The Marriage of Figaro), (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart). Also, think of any songs that mean something to you and your fiancé. If you want to hear some of these songs, I would recommend going to a music store where you can listen to CD’s and seeing if they have CD’s of wedding music or just classical music. Good luck!

I would say that if you want to stick with instrumental but still classic these would be my picks.

Pachebel's Canon
Bach's Minuet in G
Bach's Air
Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary
Vivaldi's Spring

Those are all beautiful, classic, but not supremely traditional for the bridal processional. Now if you're looking for a more modern approach try these.

Steven Curtis Chapman's I Will Be Here
Kenny G's arrangement of the Wedding March
Natalie Coles arrangement of Unforgettable. (The one where she made it a duet with Nat King Cole)

Those I think would be beautiful!

Many people choose their own song these days.

Ideas:
A Whole new World (that song from Aladdin)
Have I told you Lately that I love you (Rod Stewart)
Everything I Do I do it for you (Brian Adams) *this is a good one

Those are good songs that fit any love relationship.
But as the girl before said, if you want Metallica, play metallica. It's YOUR day!

i believe a special song just for you both is so much nicer.than the traditional. gives more meaning to what ou both want or want to express t each other on that special day.
