Singles & Dating - 14 October 2007

I am in the architecture/design field and guys I meet are either already married...or gay. I also live and work outside of LA, where there are unfortunately lots of people interested in "superficial" things. I value nice things, but I don't have alot, and am not materialistic. I like the area, but think I won't meet a "real" guy in a place like this. By the way, I'm not moving!!

yes i realize im looking more for advice than for an answer...
i have been so depressed lately..
i dont feel loved. i feel as if no one cares about me. when i go to talk to my parents they ignore me. and yes i have many friends but im not sure how much they truly care about me.. i mean i know they do but they just dont show it all the well all the time.
and i currently have no love life. ya i know love hits you when you least expect it and its wonderful. i know what true love SHOULD feel like but i am so longing for it that i dont know what to do. i feel so hopeless.
i think what i am really looking for is someone to care about me and to hold me.
any advice would be GREATLY appreciated

last year i dated a guy that hurt me really badly cause he was sneaking around with my friends...
its hard to trust anyone anymore
ive had a few boyfriends since him but they havent lasted more than 3 weeks cause im too worried that their gonna hurt me like he did
i iwanna trust them but..i trusted him ..ya know
my recent bf...lasted 3 weeks..
i still like him but hes a big flirt and im just to over cautious
is there anything that can help me get over this problem so i can just love again?

Ok so me and my gf have been goin out for almost a year and we havent really had a conversation about sex. There have been certain occasions where we have came close to actually havin sex, but since neither of us was prepared for the moment (u know, protection or birth control) we ended up not goin any further. Even after these incidents we didn't really talk about wat happend or wat we woulda liked to happen... Its also been a while since we have sexually come on to each other, and Since its comin close to a year I wanna spark up a sexual relationship wit her, I have perfect plans for how i want things to happen. Problem is I just don't know how to actually bring up the topic in a conversation wit her, to make sure she is ready and feels the same way as i do.

Ive given my girlfriend a clitorl orgasm before, but when we have sex I just can't get her off. I don't think my penis is too small but she sometimes can't even feel me. She's asked me about all kinds of things which some guys like but I don't want her to do that and some of it seems kind of demeaning actually but I know she'd do anything to make me happy.. I know it's weird but I really like her feet and I would just like to look at them and maybe kiss them... i'm not the hottest girl in the world but i know i'm good looking and i know he knows that. he persued me big time in the beginning. but since i wasn't ready for a relationship(he knew that too) i ended up treating him very poorly. i knew he wanted to be with me and did everything he could to get me. how do i make him want to get me back? i already apologized and told him i realized i really want to be with him and that i would change my ways. should i leave him alone for a little while? i'm younger than him, hotter, smart, admitted to be nicer to him, asked for forgiveness, he might have more money but i can potentially earn as much. it's only been two weeks and i've been blowing up his phone apologizing and to take me back.

Ok well I use the perfume Refuge and another from Hollister(not at the same time lol). My brother say he loves the Refuge but hates Hollister. Which one is best (and others if others are better) If you don't know the names of the smell you like then try and describe it.

I've been seeing this guy for maybe a month now and he isn't trying to sleep with me. Never in my experience has this happened. The other night, we were fooling around and he suddenly asks me if I want to watch a movie (and unfortunately he wasn't talking porn). I was shocked, so I backed off big time. Then he starts explaining himself, saying that he wants to take things slow, that he doesn't take sex lightly, yadda yadda yadda.

What do I make of this? Is there something he's trying to hide, performance related, or could there be a better alternative explanation? (ie, one that doesn't make me want to end this now). He's a great guy, and were he great in the sack, I could definitely see myself with him. But the fear of the unknown is driving me crazy.

Any advice?


(Oh, I should mention, we're both in our upper 20's...ie, too old for this kind of silliness!)

I am a 19 year old female. I recently went on a first date with this guy and afterwards, he invited me back to his place. I said sure, with intentions of just hanging out for a little bit then leaving.

At his apartment, he wanted to get physical, as in more than just making out. I did not want this. My friends say it was my mistake to say 'yes' to going back to his place. So should I fault him for being too forward (I'm not into guys that like to get physical so quickly) or is it my fault for saying yes when I should have followed the "rule" that an invitation back to the place equals "getting some"?

Been with her for 4 years, totally faithful for all 4. We have been on a break now for 5 months, the reason for the break being that my girlfriend said she needed to figure her life out without me. We agreed that we can see other people. I ended up seeing a really good friend of hers at a bar one night, and later that night we ended up sleeping together. We agreed not to say anything about it, but I have an overwhelming sense of guilt. I know we are on a break, but I just slept with one of her friends. Should I tell her? Any advice welcomed.

Is my boyfriend an alcoholic?
My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and ever since we started dating, i've realized he drinks almost every night. Some nights he drinks 20-30 beers or a lot of liquor or both. He's in the navy now and when he got out of boot camp all he could talk about was drinking again. Now he's stationed and he recently told me that if he didn't have to work everyday, he would drink 7 days a week instead of just on the weekends. Thats what made me realize that he may have a drinking problem. I confronted him about this but all he did was deny it and say he was getting off the phone and when I talked to him drunk he promised me that he would talk to me about it sober but I knew that he wouldn't but I tried anyways. What should I do? I feel like I'm running out of options

Alright so im doing the most stupidest thing on the planet. I know what im doing is wrong but to tell you guys the truth i love this women. She is an ex of mine and we dated for three years and when we broke up i never stopped thinking about her it never hurt less. Shes married now and says shes still loves me but loves her husband to. He doesnt nessicarly treat her well though. I met this sweet guy on the Internet and we both love each other and he lives in England and I live in North Carolina. I want to meet him face to face.
