Is it really better to have loved and lost than to never really love at all?

2007-06-27 22:52:44 · 7 answers · asked by Mike M. 7

Ok, my girlfriend is the greatest thing anyone could ever ask for. She has always been there for me, always there to take care of me and has never stopped showing me unconditional love. Now I have done all the same for her except I haven't shown her all the attention that she wants or even deserves at times and until recently i didn't help her out around the house as much as I should have. She never complained but i could tell it bothered her. She has brought up marriage quite a few times and i wanted the same but was scared at the time. not sure why. we have been together for 2 1/2 years. A couple of weeks ago she had to go out of town for job training and was gone for 2 weeks, at the end of her time away she ended up kissing another guy and then instantly breaking into tears. She called me that night very upset and apologized over and over. I'm not even really upset about the kiss to be honest, but i did realize what I was about to lose. Any advice on working through this?

I'm 17 and he assumes a lot of stuff about me and it drives me mad. He assumes that some day I'll get married and have kids of my own.. And when I said I never wanted to, he said "Well, you're not gay, and you don't want to be alone" He has no idea... And because he assumes I'm straight, he's way too overprotective of me and always afraid of me getting a boyfriend. It really bothers me. Why do you think he'd assume this?

I work 4 a very small firm where I've been a key player (w/ a solid track record). At first, my boss appeared 2 B thrilled w/ my performance, but her true self "came out" very early on. I have overheard her snide comments and when I ask her directly if there's a problem, she flatly denies it. I have had others come to me with comments she has made. She has also "bad mouthed" me to our superiors. She omits me from important meetings, reassigns choice projects to others, has stolen credit for my work and has even cut my budget w/o warning. Direct (but civil) confrontations only lead to "passive aggressive" payback and more acts of sabotage. I have tried to play it as professional/proactive as I know how. Now I'm just fed up. Her comments are beginning to mar people's opinion of me. I know not to waste sleep trying to change her and a career change is already in the works, but I need to have some strategies to put a stop to this nonsense NOW.
Any solid suggestions???

The 1st question would suggest not making fun of her on the count of her(self) being fat.

The second suggests maybe she (or fat people in general)may not take kindly to being made fun of (but not nessecarily because of thier weight.

Do you see the difference?

Any thoughts on this?

i have joint custody with my ex and live a few miles from her and my son.because of this i have almost daily contact with my ex(text msg/email/phone) regarding my son.The problem is my ex hates my new wife(jealous) and goes out of her way to torment her and makes her feel unwelcome around our son. This pisses off my wife and she will "feed the fire" so to say meaning she will do things that she knows will piss my ex off and i'm cought in the middle. Some will say i need to stand up for my new wife but i need to think of my young son too.Yes my exwife is to blame for this(mostly) but i'm taking the high road for my son by staying out of it.Is this the best way to handle this?

always make sucha big fuss on spelling? I mean if it's your question you can spell it however you want. most words that people put arn't hard to figure out so if you understand the word leave a polite message answering the question not telling them to take an english class or something because maybe they were in a hurry or they didn't feel like typing out the whole word...ya know? it's just stop making such a big deal out of this. do you agree or disagree. why? thanks for answers.

I have already repoted this abuse to 2 or 3 different areas of Yahoo and was last told this is the correct place to report abuse. It was sent to me through email.I was chatting with a Kelly Hutton whom I thought was a female, and I had never chatted with before she confefermed this, because the first thing she typed was had we ever chatted before?I said no.We chatted for a bit and she asked for a photo. My address book only took down her screen name when it excepted her.So I asked her for her email address she kept beating around the bush asking me if I had file share, I told her I didn't know how to use it,so I asked for her address one last time and she replied are you open minded and I typed yes very open minded. I thought she was hesitating to give me her email address cause it was a sexual name or something but then she typed just reply back with a photo of you so I went to my email;there was an email from kelly hutton, titled:doggy fun. Its disgusting I'm not suppose to post.So help

My friend is having big time problems with her Dad right now. He just won't talk to her, and he takes out all of his problems on her, and she doesn't know what to do. She sent him e-mails because it's so hard for her to talk to him. So what should she do?

I sit next to somebody all day at work and I honestly can't stand him. It's got to the point where anything the guy does will pee me off. It is partly the things he does (types like a preying mantis, sends creepy emails to girls he fancies in the office, picks his nose all day...) and partly who he is (pathetic, self-obsessed, socially awkward but arrogant too, disgusting.....) but the thing is: he isn't going to change and I can't make him. So, the question has to be, how can I get over my dislike for him? How can I avoid getting irritated? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Last year after me & my husband got back togheter ;he had a coworker s flirting openly with him always trying to get his attention telling him she had sex dream about him..he talk a lot about her, told me that the guys at work thought that they had something going on..then he left his job he gave her his number.they started to call each other ;email each other flirting a lot ..she wanted to "hang out" and seems like he wanted it too but they need did because that s when i started to put a stop to it..i felt very uncomfortable and sent her an email to give her a piece of my mind..and i found out that my husband wrote to her to apologize about my email..saying that he didn't know why his"*******"wife did that??v hurtful of course.
we had a huge argument he erase her email+phone number admit he was wrong and for a while things stopped..but then i notice my husband was trying really hard to get in touch with her and now they are in contact again..i am uspet about it am i overreacting?
