I work 4 a very small firm where I've been a key player (w/ a solid track record). At first, my boss appeared 2 B thrilled w/ my performance, but her true self "came out" very early on. I have overheard her snide comments and when I ask her directly if there's a problem, she flatly denies it. I have had others come to me with comments she has made. She has also "bad mouthed" me to our superiors. She omits me from important meetings, reassigns choice projects to others, has stolen credit for my work and has even cut my budget w/o warning. Direct (but civil) confrontations only lead to "passive aggressive" payback and more acts of sabotage. I have tried to play it as professional/proactive as I know how. Now I'm just fed up. Her comments are beginning to mar people's opinion of me. I know not to waste sleep trying to change her and a career change is already in the works, but I need to have some strategies to put a stop to this nonsense NOW.
Any solid suggestions???

I presume you are reporting to her? Is there a higher management? Write a grievance report with substantial evidence/proof to help resolve the matter and request to be transferred out to another section thereafter.

If she calls the shot in this small firm, then I would suggest, dont lose sleep over this. Find another job.

Good luck!
