I've been friends with this girl for two years, I developed feelings for her and over the summer we had the startings of what I thought was a relationship. When the summer ended, we got caught up in the college process but I still thought there was something there. We still hung out like really good friends with the potential for something more. Now she admitted the other day that she does have a boyfriend (not me), and yet despite the heartache I feel, she still acts how we used to act. I realize now what I should've long ago, she's never really had any of the reciprocal feelings that I had for her. I have no way now of telling her how I feel because I know she'll reject me and then our friendship will be ruined. So how can I move on? Keep in mind, I live in a small town and it's hard to meet people. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It seems to me that most men judge a women by her looks and not for the person she truly is. They don't realize just what they are missing out on.

I am a 20 year old living at home and was recently grounded for a week, for "lying" to a collection agency about when I was going to recieve my next pay check, I was just wondering if anyone else thought that , this was a little extreme, I have taken care of all my finanical issues without parental help and I am very upset about this choice and do not know what to do.

Well, my fiance and I had a very ruff begining... but everything ended up for the better. My parents never really liked him from the begining, and a very long time ago i thought he wasnt good enough for me.He ways toward me in the begining weren't "so great"but anyway, I ended up giving him another chance and here we are 3 years later as happy as can be and we're engaged... I have no doubt in my mind that he loves me, I know he loves me because he has done everything to prove that to me. Now my parents are the ones who dislike him and the tell me he is no good for me and that I am going to unhappy with him. I am so scared because I know that most of the time parents are right. But, they dont know my relationship... the only see whats on the outside.. but now I am thinking twice about things and I dont know if its because my parents have put so much negativity into my mind.... I am so confused!!

...for my brother (20 year old, construction worker, hunter, sports guy) and his girlfriend (20 year old, nurse, really girly, into scrapbooking and taking pictures and shopping) they are soooo different and i really don't know what direction to take it. she grew up with us, so we're very close (she lives 3 doors down)...and i just really dunno what to get them. maybe a giftcard to a restaurant or to movie place? gift cards are too impersonnal. my husband and i were hoping to spend around 30 on them...does anyone have any cute ideas?
i know, i know bad question, but i can NOT come up with anything other than gift cards or a picture frame with them in it. agghhhh. help!!!

Since other's are posting poems...
here's one from me.
kind of random.
but what needed to be said was said.

My needs are insignificant
My wants are overrated
You prance around my feelings
While I pretend to be elated

My problems aren't important
My words have no appeal
You think you're oh-so-wonderful
But you're not that big a deal

My ideas have no chance
My self esteem is low
You only care about yourself
There's others here, you know.

My friend's former husband has retired (at the age of fifty) and she has been told that, as a retiree, he does not have to pay child support. This is depite his consideral wealth and an almost obscene pension. Can this really be so?

I find him interesting. I'd like to hang out with him, but most advice I've gotten says not to because it's bad for my marriage. Well, what if this interesting person was female? Am I required to only start new friendships with women for the rest of my life, just because I'm married? If it's platonic, I don't think that's fair. It shouldn't matter, it sounds like gender discrimination! And if this guy wants more that doesn't mean he will get it!

I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year. He interrupts me WAY TOO MUCH. I've tried to explain to him that i don't like this and it annoys me but he continues to make the same mistake. I want to be able to talk it out in an effective way without getting angry or yelling. It's really hard and frustrating to have a conversation with him because he either interrupts me or changes the subject immediately no matter WHAT we're talking about!

fed up and annoyed please help!!!

I work from home and sometimes want to interact with people, but it seems that the chatrooms are all about sex or full of pre-teens acting silly. Does anyone know a clean, normal place to go talk about current events, home life, women's topics like family, crafts, cooking...?
