if it's not someone that you have to be in constant contact with such as family member just get away from them. Stop going where they go and find some new places.
If they come after you simply tell them that you are trying a new way of life and if they become threatoning turn them over to the police.

You have to look at this as protecting yourself.Get away as soon as your fast feet will go. I am sorry for anyone who has to put up with other peoples problems.But you should not make there problem yours.I almost killed my brother in law when i was a kid,he threw a rock at my sister and hit his dauther instead(my niece). He was always a piece of ****,but i almost became a bigger piece.

If they know the other person is violent, then the best way would be to make sure you are never alone with the violent person. If for some reason you find yourself alone with the violent person, then leave.
