a baby but not a husband?

2006-10-10 18:05:59 · 16 answers · asked by Avia 3

Hi,

Please only answer if you are serious. No joke or wasteful answers please. Thanks for respecting.

My son and daughter in law have been married for over 3 years. Although I have done everything that I know of to get along with my daughter in law, she remains very snobby with me and she feels that she is "helping" me by telling me all of my faults. She has deeply hurt me many times in the past, however, she just doesn't care at all. She does act very cold most of the time.
What she has problems with me for are: the way I dress, the fact that I prefer my hair long, she does not like that I am a vegan, she has told me that I was not a good mother to my son in that I treated him like a baby...so much more. My son is my only son and he and I were very close until his marriage.
They have a son now, my adorable grandson, and I feel that she will eventually stop allowing us to see him. We are not allowed to babysit??? This is far too hurtful. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks

meeting new people, and starting a new school its hard for her, or for everyone their first year of college. But just a couple of weeks ago she got a phone call from her step mom(who she gets along with) that her healthy living dad was dead on the couch when she got home from work. She missed a week of school and is now stressed and trying to catch up but is doing bad bc she says she is so sad about her dads sudden death. Her family history is no one ever finishing college and today she told me she wanted to go home next semester and save up money and come back...I didnt know what to tell her she is so smart and her dad never gave her the choice but to finish college, but a week after her dads death her mom tells her she is getting a divorced with her step dad. So she is really worried about her mom and money...I told her that if she left she will probably never come back and she agreed but i dont know what to do to get her to stay...help...

Not Poligamy, where a man has multiple wives who are not allowed to be with other men. I mean Polyamory, where men and women are involved in multiple commited relationships on open and honest terms and conditions. What do you say about this?

I can tell that my parents don't really care for my boyfriend. They act nice in front of him but they have told me before that they think I can do better. His family doesn't have a whole lot of money and mine is pretty well off. They say they want me to have as easy of a life I can and they want the best for me. I know my dad secretly wishes we would break up. I want to marry him! Him and I had a lot of prob. in the beg. of our relationship but we have made it past all of the drama. My dad says that there is just something about him he doesn't like. He doesn't tell me this though, I have to hear it from my mom. I feel as if I'm letting them down. How can I make them see that i'm serious? Oh yea, hes also of a diff. race.

What would you suggest on doing for a family-night. Have 1 daughter who is 17, a son who is 16 and another son who is 13. They all have different interests, but I want us to all go out together at least once a week. What do you suggest?

We noticed another person's name on the back of a relative's tombstone. After inquiring with the funeral home, we found out that our dearly departed had sold the back of the tombstone to some other person no longer of this world. Has anyone ever heard of someone doing this? Just curious. Thanks.

I am 28 and still dress tomboyish like I did growing up. My mother would love to have grand children from me. She has never asked me my sexual orientation but now is the time for me to tell her but I just don't know how. I am not scared of my parents or anything but I have been very private of my life. I would love to tell them now so when and if I find a right partner I do not spring it on them.

My daughter just remarried this past weekend. She and my 3 yr old granddaughter will be moving out. It is wonderful that my granddaughter will finally have a normal family life with a Mom and a Dad. I am very, very happy for all of them.
My problem is my granddaughter has lived with me since birth and I have practially raised her. How do I let go
and move on without this little girl. My heart is breaking. I realize my feelings are all about me and I hate myself for that, but I am going to miss her so very much.
My daughter had been in and out of our lives for several years, prior to the birth of her daughter. So I am used to her coming and going, but not by granddaugher. Please tell how to cope with my feelings of not having my granddaughter with me 24/7.

Every parent i've met is so stressed and unhappy about being a parent. Maybe not everyone, but sometimes i think that having children only makes couples have less time for eachother and things they want to accomplish. You have to pay more, work more, spoil them and make them happy. From all the child abuse and such, do you think children are worth having and why?

That is the way it is in my family and I figure since the men do more hard work than women, that the women can do that kind of stuff....besides it is a good bonding time for women and makes them feel needed. I'm supposed to go to my girlfriend's house though and the have this system where the guys do the dishes and the women cook. I'm not a woman and I don't think that is right. Am I right here?!?!

As I reached deep down into the depths of the couch cushions looking for grandmas false teeth I pulled up an object that was at one time a peice of food.Yes with out so much as identifing it I scarfed it right down(hey I was hungry, like you don't do that). Now that I have had time to reflect on my actions I think it was something grandma had chewed and then set to the side for later. My question is; did you want some ?

My husband has been working hard to help us make it in life. He works his job, side jobs, and is working hard on the house to make it better. We are about to have our third child and life it going to be even more crazy for a while. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on what I could surprise him with to tell him thanks and i love him. I don't want to spend much money if any money at all. He would probably like it more if I didn't. Any ideas?

Nothing I do... My occupation, my relationship, my friends... my parents DO NOT approve. They (and my fiance) control me and tell me what I'm doing wrong. How do I tell them to let me chose my own life?
