a baby but not a husband?

It isn't wrong but it isn't easy to raise a child. Babies are adorable but they aren't so cute when you're exhausted and they have colic, or you have a 2 year old with a temper tantrum or a teen going through a difficult time. (I know a lot about the teen!)

There is no guarantee that if you marry you'll stay married, but children are forever and you have to be prepared for that responsibility.

I know a woman who is single, had a baby and wound up terribly underemployed, living on the edge due to childcare costs, medical costs, the burden of leaving work early to pick up her daughter. They are both suffering economically and it's too bad she didn't wait to have her baby, be more secure financially and stable emotionally.

Not at all wrong! A woman's urge to bear a child can be very strong so if you are having a baby for all the right reasons and not as a comforting factor in your life, then it's not wrong. Having the means to be able to bring a baby up is important though obviously that doesn't mean you have to be rich as love is the most important thing.

Kind of. A baby has a right to two parents. That is the way it should be. You just want it for yourself and you are not considering the long term affects on the child. Now that is not to say you have to marry the father, but a baby should have one.

sometimes I want a husband, and other times I don't. but I definitely want a baby!!! I'm in the same boat as you. there's nothing wrong with it at all! people don't exactly go about things the traditional way anymore.

In my opinion, yes; because it shouldn't be about what you want, but about what you want for your baby. There are too many children in this world that have to grow up without fathers. It can be devistating to a child, not to mention, when you have a child, that's a huge financial responsibility. It takes a lot more than just love to raise a child.

A baby should be the result of true love between a couple. Wanting a baby for your own self-fulfillment does sound selfish.

Kind of abnormal because you'd be depriving your child of a father too, there are already too many single parent households producing messed up kids...why add to them.
