What would you suggest on doing for a family-night. Have 1 daughter who is 17, a son who is 16 and another son who is 13. They all have different interests, but I want us to all go out together at least once a week. What do you suggest?

i doubt that you can find one thing that will interest all three equally. i did something similar as you but mine were younger. we had 'family' nite once a week. each nite was for one child. meaning that each child got their turn to pick what we all did. within reason of course. turned out that the one that got to pick usually chose something that would, if not avidly interest the others, at least be of some fun for the others too.
but if you need to pic, miniature golf, arcade, go carts, museums (mine love them) zoo. in st louis missouri we also have planitarium, and science center, butterfly house. go on line and find out what your city has to offer. i use 37.com and type in the city name along with keyword tourism. you will find all kinds of things to do.

Get them to write down lots of suggestions and see where their interests cross over. We used to have what we called kids days, where I would take either my daughter or my son and my husband would take the other. They got to choose what they agenda for the day would be. They didn't tell each other what their plans were. At the end of our day out, a small token gift was chosen for their sibling. Finally, we would all meet up to eat and talk about what we'd done. This was very successful. We didn't do this every week though, we did it occasionally because it could work out expensive. They are both adult now and still fondly remember 'kids' days. (Even though we still did it till they were 18!) Good luck.

I loved the hiking trips with my dad. I would stay away from any activities that require spending money. I just wouldn't want my kids to associate quality time with spending money. For me that would be the number one criteria , the next criteria would be something that I'm fairly good at, so they can see my character better. Hmmm...to tell you the truth, I don't have any kids yet, so I might not be that good at this...

PS: I'm 26 Male though...if that makes any difference

As crazy as it seems, I always loved playing games. I always liked scrabble, trivial pursuit, monopoly, life, etc. Order some pizza, pick a game, and have fun. Also, it gives everyone a chance to talk.

bowling, picnic, hiking, skating, shopping(LOL)......Try having no tv, radio, or any other distractions and just talk. Devotions is great. The first few times maybe like pulling teeth; but it will get easier.
