Supose you are the father. Your birthday is tomorrow. Your son gives you today a touching bday gift and the weekly school report which is very bad ( 2 tests failed and behaivour complains) Normaly you would punish him severly for it. Will the touching gift make you not do that ?

He is retaking in summer school 3 subjects he failed . The bad report is due to not trying hard enough and just messing around.

I moved from British Columbia to be with my fiancee in Ontario. I've lived in the country for years, and couldn't imagine living in the city (he works in Toronto), so we bought a small acreage about 1-1/2 hours outside of the city. Its a long commute, he's gone 12 hours a day, and is tired and moody when he gets home. He loves his job though. Thats why we moved here (me and my 2 kids), because he didn't want to give up his job. I guess it was ok for us to give up everything else though. AT that point, he had worked this job for 4 years..now he's been there 6 years.
He's been treating me weird lately, hardly talking to me. I've tried making conversation, he gives me as short an answer as he can and never tries to make more conversation. His boss told him if he went into management, he'd have a better chance of working somewhere closer to home. I think he likes it where he is though and isn't even trying to move closer to home. He's always tired with the commute.

I’m 14, a straight A student, first chair in orchestra, so you could say I’m well off, but I have a problem.

My parents are nice people but I get the feeling they don’t trust me. They told me I’m not allowed to date/wear makeup until I am in my third year of college or around 21 years old. When I tell them I’m full from dinner, they think I’m trying to lose weight or something, and then they make me eat more even if I’m about to throw up. I’m not allowed to leave the house and I can’t hang out with friends at all. If I get a “B” on something, they get really mad. They tell me that I shouldn’t be thinking about how I look and that I should be happy with the hand-me-downs that I get for clothes, since I am “just a kid.”

I’m scared to talk to them, because I’m pretty sure their reaction won’t be very understanding… I know that I am lucky to live in a nice home and stuff and that they're just concerned, but it makes me unhappy. Am I being unreasonable? Any advice? Thanks.

Ok my mom has this new husband after getting devorsed and everytime I do one little thing wrong I get in BIG trouble. Like if i put the dishes up wrong all he does is goes to my mom and tell my mom what I did like it is some big deal..what should I do? Im confused!

My husband and I don't make very much money. He works and I stay home with our 8 month old son. By the time we pay our bills, we have about $350-$400 left over. Buy food,diapers, and gas and we have about $150 left over. My husband seems to always use all this and more. At this moment he has overdrafted more than $300. I don't know what to do. He only gets $500 a pay check, so on his next paycheck we'll only have about $200. I love him, but talking to him doesn't help. I've threatened to take his debit-card away, but even that doesn't help. And everytime he overdrafts, the charge from the bank goes up $2. It started at $31 for everytime he overdrafts, and now it's $39. I don't know what to do! We have nothing to sell, and I don't have a car, so even if I wanted to go back to work, I couldn't. Has anybody else gone through this? I need ideas on how to save money. We end up in the negative every month and are 1/2 month behind on rent at this time. I'm so stressed out.

When I say getting "progressively worse" i'm not jus talking about academically, i'm also talking about socially as well. Although i'm a senior this year, I feel like my last 3 years there, I haven't accomplished anything and my parents keep telling me that I don't have a future in a decent college. I don't make straight A's, I make A's and B's and occasionally C's in the more difficult classes. Not only that, My Mom is a teacher at my high school and on top of all that, my younger sister is going to be a freshmen when school starts back. I don't mix with the wrong people, I don't really say much to other students because I feel like my parents have brainwashed me and put negative thoughts into my head so that I wouldn't have anything to say to anyone. I can't really talk to students who are supposed to be my friends without hearing them talk about their plans for the future and what honor classes that their taking. This is what i have to put up with on a daily basis. Please help me!

Last Saturday I wanted to go to a party but my dad though that part wasn't convinient for a 15 yo girl, There'd be adults and alcohool. I tried to convince him, after all I'm wise, don't get in trouble and wouldn't drink. He said he agreed completely but it could be dangerous and didn't let me go. He suggested several other healthy ways for me to have fun, but I was mad at him for not trusting me and ended stayig home sulking. Sunday was his bday and I'd bought him a shirt with all my love and money. I decided not to give him his gift and not to go to a restaurant with my family to celebrate his bday. But he looked into my eyes with love and asked if I really had reasons to be so resentful. I ended up hugging him, gave him his gift, he loves (at least he said so) and went to the rastaurant. We had fun together. And I admitted that party wasn't really convinient for a girl my age. Well, I always lose, when I fight with my parents I end up hugging them. Is there anythig wrong w/ me?

i have an older sister , she is 29 and the older she gets the worse she gets with cocaine , she works a job 3 hours a day, has no ambition and seems to be falling deeper and deeper into using cocaine, she has stolen some money and jewelry from em already. i have told my parents but she denies it and its almost like they believe her but i have first hand knowledge that , that is all she does with her and her bfs money.and then they hit up my parents for money and they give it to her which i wish they wouldnt . i dont know what to do to get her to stop cause she doesnt think she has a problem ,but she is an addict already

i wanna be nice to my litle brother but he's SOO stubborn and he's ALWAYS getting on my nerves!!
I have to explode at him like everyday! He's 10 and we're not very far in age.
Then when i explode at him, he gets all frustrated and starts crying. (i know he wans me to be nicer to him, too) and that makes me feel even worse!!
It really doesn't help that I can get almost anything I want and everyone's also a litle harder on him. (mostly because im a scial butterfly and he's not really social at all. he's got friends but...)
I wanna be nice to him but i just cant!
all he ever wants to do is play video games and do boring stuff that i dont wanna do.

Do you think there is any hidden reason that my younger brother (11) points his BB gun at me and pretends to shoot me but shoots at something above my head or to the left of me or to the right of me? I swear I am going have to punch his lights out if he does that to me anymore. Do you guys have any coping stratedgies?
