Just be yourself. Be nice and as polite as you can be. Find out their interests and strike up conversations along those lines. Never assume a character that is not yours. Be yourself from the first day. They are equally eager to make a good first impression as well.

Find out from your significant other what your in-laws enjoy. Then go pick that up for them - whether it be a certain type of cheese to a nice bottle of wine to chocolates or whatever. Going the extra distance will help you in the very long run.

Try your best not to offend anyone by putting them in akward situations, like asking them embarrassing questions out loud. And don't act anti-social--it makes people feel that they aren't worth your time. Last, but not least, be nice. If you are worthy enough to meet the family, I am pretty sure you will be liked. GOOD LUCK!!!

take a gift - find out what they like. Also get up to speed on their likes / dislikes so you will have something to talk abt and also know what NOT to say. Avoid any conversation abt politics ans or religion. Keep your sense of humour - Most of all, remember they must be as nervous as you are.

Yes, most definitely a suggestion. Remember one thing. Whether they like you or do not like you, whether they treat you well or treat you mean, whether they talk to you or through you, you are still a good, worthwhile, valuable, loveable human being.
As a matter of fact, remember that always.

Ask your partner what they are into so you can have something to talk about. Notice a peice of jewelry or something and make a comment about it to strike up a conversation. Try not to show your nervousness and be yourself!

be yourself don't change your attitude for them. if your husband wants you change to impress his mother than you tell him to shove it. he accepted you for who you are and he shouldn't all of sudden tell you to do this and that. if his parents don't approve of you then that's their problem because you married your husband not them. when i first met my mother n law i was afraid but i realized that I'm not living with her and she don't cook for my husband or wash his clothes anymore so I'm there for us. i love her so much and she loves me. i was just myself and i got to see all his baby pictures and videos. now he regrets me meeting her =0)
