Grandma, Mom, Aunt, or Dad's Kitchen?
When I smell certain spicy perfumes, I think of pumpkin pies baking in moms oven.

When I smell musty old basement it reminds me of my Grandfather's basement, which in turn reminds me of him. He had a bar and a pool table in his basement, and there was this little side room that had a huge box of "special" toys for me and my sister to play with when we were little (they were just regular toys, but they were "special" because they were only at his house). He passed away last month, so whenever I smell this smell now it's like he's right there again and means so much more to me than before.

When I bake pies or cakes the aroma takes me back to my childhood when I spent alot of time with my Aunt. She's actually the one who started my love of cooking. She tolerated the mess I made in the kitchen and always praised me for my efforts.

Halston cologne reminds me of my husband.
Fresh baked pumpkin pies remind me of Christmas when my Mom was alive.... I hate pumpkin pie!! but it still brings a smile to my face remembering Mom.
and ... this is gross but doggy poo reminds me of my mother in law's house. She's not the tidiest person I know anymore!!

Scent is the strongest of all senses for personal rememberance. Certain women wear a type of perfume that my first girlfriend used to wear. I always look forward to smelling it again.

I love the smell of hot, wet pavement. It reminds me of summer days running through the sprinkler or washing the car. Mmm, baked cement.

Coffee. I hate the stuff but the smell always reminds me of home and of my mother. Also the smell of Coppertone suntan lotion to me is the smell of summer. Until I smell that I don't think summer is truly there yet.

old spice cologne.
when ever i pass a man wearing it, in the store, it reminds me of the day i was kidnapped. and i scream in horror, and usually knock down an aisle or some stand, while trying to get away. then i end up on the floor with seizures..

When I smell wild honeysuckle in the springtime, it reminds me of a girl I once knew ... and how she smiled and glanced at me when she touched the little white blossoms on her neck.

When I smell pantene pro v on wet hair, I think of my mom. She ALWAYS washed her hair with pantene pro v and I cant use it now because it makes me too sad to smell her. She died 5 years ago. Good question!
