she has almost everything i want. she is popular she is artistic she is pretty she is smart she has good friends she is creative and she is way skinnier then i am. i know i sound sterotypical but it is true. the only thing i have going for me that she doesn't is my musical talent. i am also artistic and smart but im not popular and i dont have very good friends and im not that pretty and even though i've lost some weight i'll never be as thin as her and im not as creative. when people at school see me they say "hey ur jessica's sister". they never call me by my name. and when my parents praise her for her art or grades it makes me feel low. i hate the fact that i have to compete with her to get the attention of my own friends. it's really quite sad. i'ld never tell my sister this cuz we have become like friends but it kills me that she (in my eyes) is so much better then me. im not saying that i want to be better then her i just dont want to feel so low compared to her.

I have a friend who's parents did. His older sister (23) turned out to hate the thought of all relationships, his older twin brother (17) is basically scared of everyone and was suicidal when he was younger.

He is okay in my opinion, but I am almost sure if they had had a more stable home-life growing up his siblings would of been different....

I previously asked a question on where I should go for my summer break visit my mom, grandparents, or inlaws. I decided to go see my mom since I haven't been home in five years. Now the rest of my grandparents are mad. They said I ruined all their summer plans. I feel very guilty and am debating just going to Costa Rica with them. The thing is my mom already bought me a ticket since my vacation starts in 12 days. My grandparents hadn't made any plans yet, even though they knew the exact days I had off 6 months ago. What should I do? Is my ticket on Frontier refundable? Should I go spend time with my grandparents who I visit every couple months and make them happy or go home and make my mom happy? I'm so confused and stressed out!

My 8 year old son since born has always been an emotional person. He cries at the drop of a hat or can be excessively happy the next. He demands he gets his way and has devised games we are all now getting smart to in order to get his way. He lies to the other members in the family about things that aren't true. He tries to cause as many fights as he can amongst the family just to see us fight. When we tell him no he cries, and throws a fit. Then either hurts his sibling or scratches, pinches, or bites at himself. I have tried time out, tried the spending time with him alone to do something special, I have tried to explain to him that things he does isn't nice. He tells me he doesn't know why he does it but he knew he wasn't suppose to do it but says he wanted to do it anyway. He doesn't think anyone should tell him no. He hurts the family's pets and thinks it is funny to watch them fight each other. He even puts himself in time out when he does something. How can I help him

i'm freaking 22 years old and my parents live 300 miles away from me. i am completely independent (financially) and i am about to graduate college and start my career and my life. but my parents still keep me out of the loop on family affairs and act like i'm still a little kid. my cousin, who lives 5 miles from them and has a daughter my age, has to keep me in the loop on stuff that's going on, and none of it is really that big of a deal!!!!!! do i talk to them? do i just let it go and keep acting like i'm oblivious to what's going on!? help!!

i'm about to rip my hair out......

My daughter is 10 years old and my son is 6 and they both love pretending. My son loves when my daughter puts makeup on him and dresses him up pretty. I don't know if this is a concern. I have told her to stop and she did but a few days ago she did it again. He absolutly loves pretending with her. When is this not right for a boy to dressup. How much is too much?

My "real" dad is in jail, and has been for several years. I met him once when I was 8, and am now in my teens. We have been sending mail back and forth for a while and I have been sending pictures- this time out of curiosity my mom asked which ones I was sending, and one of them was of me in a pool ( with a one piece very modest bathing suit on).

She told me that because he was a man in jail, he might not see me as his daughter, but as a woman in a pool, and that I couldn't send it.

It made me horrifyed thinking about this...and just did as she said...

But do you really think my own father....would see me a different way? Is that how it is in jail?
This makes me feel....awkward.

My sister is this kind of person that all she thinks about is herself and she really dont know she is like this. She is the only one that has an opion. She dont listen to anyone ealse. I am 28, have been married five years to a wonderful man, yet I have zero desire for children. I am completely in love with animals, and I love to take care of my pets, but when it comes to kids, I dread the thought of having them. I dread my freedoms being gone forever. I don't get excited around babies, and I don't want to hold or be near everyone's baby. It's not that I hate kids; it's just that I have no maternal instinct when it comes to them. So why do I have such a high maternal instinct for animals but not children? Can anyone else relate?

my name is Amanda. Im 32 and my daughter Kelly is 3.I have been having some trouble with her recently.Kelly's father and my husband Greg,is a loving father and husband. A couple of months ago,Greg got a really big promotion at his firm.One of the stipulations of this new position is that he must travel every week across the country.We live in Texas and his weekly meetings are in Manhattan.every week he leaves early Sunday morning and comes back late thursday night.So he,Kelly and I only see each other roughly 2-3 times a week.Even though we talk on the phone constantly and have video chats on the computer, the distance has put a strain on Greg's relationship with Kelly and my relationship with Kelly.Lately shes been throwing the worst temper tantrums.Monday, she threw all her toys on the floor and refused to pick them up.Today she went through all my makeup, smeared all my lipstick, sprayed all my perfume,and left me to find the mess.i just do not know what to do she is out of control!
