Family - June 2006

I feel like the lowest of lows. My mom and I have had a stressful relationship for the past two years now. I'm 20 and in college and it seems that every time we spend time together, even sometimes on the phone, we end up fighting. She feels like I'm too demanding of her affections and I feel like she just doesn't care about me anymore. She never calls me unless I call her, she never emails me... I feel like I don't matter to her anymore. I have two younger brothers (9 and 11) and they get hugs and kisses all the time and I can't remember the last time she hugged me. I feel abandoned and unloved. Now she says we need to take a break from talking to each other so she can calm down and "heal". From what I don't know... Any suggestions on things I could do to encourage her affections for me?

My parents always argue non-stop (not evryday ofcoz) but when they argue it will be BIG. Once, my dad even told my mum that 1 day without doubt, she'll become a widow. The fight was that big. My dad is so sentimental and sensitive that they can even fight over FOOD?! lmao.
But what should i do???

hi im a dancer ive been dancing all my life im pretty good to my dreams are headed for dancing i think sometime when i turn old enough i want to go on the tv show "so u think u can dance" ive been training since i was 3 but i come from a small country called armenia and there a dancer is a fool who hardly gets paid and none but my parents and bro support me it kinda hurts i mean ive been workin my but off 4 ever and thats all they have to say?

I have been married to my husband for 23 years. In that time, his family has treated me very badly. I have been treated as an outsider. My husband has intervened several occasions to no avail. He has asked several family members why they treat me like this. He has not gotten a straight answer. If there is a family gathering, on several occasions they have excluded my whole family. He has called them on this and they have eluded to him that he is invited but for whatever reason they prefer I not attend. I have not done a thing to these people. I have not been harsh nor have I been mean to anyone. I tried for the first 10-13 years of my marriage to bend over backwards for them but still I am treated badly. Recently my niece has married a man who they treat the same way. They talk about him when he is not there but talk nice to him when he is there. I have witnessed this at a holiday gathering. He is no fool and I am sure he feels the samey way. My question why do they single us out?

respectfully in Sept, and Oct. just having gone back to a little over min wage, we have a 27 yr, old son making 3 times our salaries together and he wants to know why we still charge him rent to live here since we are his parents. only charge him 50.00 week, he is planning on being married hopefully in Dec and looking at homes for 150,000. Are we wrong to expect him to help out and pay rent when he seems to have so much extra and we don't, we have paid our mortgage off and bought a used car recently due to an inheritance but the money is running low and he thinks he should live here as long as he wants for free. This comes up about every year. Are we wrong to charge him and what should we do or say about this?

Ok I want a Mac laptop and I already have an old computer (now doznt work n belong to younger sis) n a slighty used, bootleged computer dat was purchasse about a month ago (which cost bout $500) So how can I beg, persuade, please (or whatever u wanna call it) my parents to buy me a $1,299 .Mac laptop? I have just gotton back from a day trip to London. I was near the underground and there was a crowd gathering watching a street magician so I went to have a look. I saw a man aged about 20 unzip a ladys backpack and take out her purse. I grabbed his other arm and put it behind his back and told him to give here it back, she turned around and took it back and thanked me. The young man then violently struggled and ended up I believe breaking his arm. The police arrived and I was arrested for assault, along with the man for theft. Even though the lady and several people argued my case I was taken to a cop shopa nd held for 7 hours. I am from Hull and now the case had been transferred to Hull and I have to appear before a magistrate next week, I was charged with assault and battery, or something similar. Does anyone think this is right, should I have just turned a blind eye.

I was an extremely wild teenager, bad home life, drugs, sex, you name it,I did it. Now, I have a teenaged son that I love very much. My husband and I do have a good home for him, and talk to him about anything, but now, he is asking about when we were kids..I do not want to lie to him, but how do I tell him the truth, sort of. I dont want him to know how I was. His father was my total turn around, and now I have to talk about it? Yeah, I know I shouldn't have been a drug addicted hoe, so now that thats out of the way, how can I be honest, without losing all respect from him, my son?
Just so you know, I was emmancipated at 15, and lived on my own. I had meth addicted parents, that abused all 5 kids, and they are now in prison. I raised one younger sister, and had to be an adult at 15.
