Being a husband who had a snoring problem, I'd suggest you treat the snoring problem, instead of trying to tune him out. By the time I finally went to the doctor, I discovered I had moderate to servere sleep apnea. He could be snoring because of this. Does he frequently stir awake? Is he constantly tired? Does he stop breathing?
See if a CPAP machine would help. He'd probably need to have a sleep study done to assess this problem.

Usually if you can get them to shift positions, they will stop snoring. What I do is just gently pull on the sheet until it is snug on his body, then he will roll over to get it to loosen up. This usually stops him, and I don't even have to wake him up.
Another thing you might try is snore stopping spray; you can get it in the drugstore. I think it is called snore ease or snore stop(not sure) but it works pretty well. To use it he'd spray it on the back of his throat - makes the muscles relax enough to stop the snoring. It worked for us, too.
You could also try just going to bed 15 mins ahead of him, if you are asleep his snoring probably won't wake you (as opposed to trying to go to sleep listening to logs being sawed, which is really tough!)
You can also use a regular band aid across the top part of his nose (works as good as breathe right strips and cheaper imho) That works too a lot of times.
Good luck to you :-) sweet dreams :-)

My main piece of advice is try to figure out what is causing his snoring, if you can do that then your problem is solved. There are a host of products out there some which work some that don't that can help you in this. Since snoring is caused by a blockage in the breathing passage most cures revolve around unblocking it. This is the reason snorers are advised to lose weight (to stop fat from pressing on the throat), to stop smoking (smoking weakens and clogs the throat), and to sleep on their side (to prevent the tongue from blocking the throat). Along with other over the counter products that also may help. My boyfriend snored alot and once he started sleeping on his side he stopped all together.

They have out this product called Breathe Right Nasal Strips. They go on your nose and help people to breathe better, thus reducing or eliminating snoring. If that doesn't work, he should ask his doctor about it.
Look up snoring in Wikipedia.

Hey, I have the same problem. Mine only snores, when he has been drinking. If yours is a drinker, the nights he drinks I suggest going to be before him or getting him the Breath right strips, however, if he snores when he doesn't drink, try rolling him on his side, mine snores less or not at all when he is on his side. If he sleeps on his back, he may have something, could be fat, if he is heavy, obstructing his airways. This can be medically cured. If it is due to alcohol, either get him to quit drinking or have him sleep on the couch when he is drinking.

My dad snores badly. He went to a Sleep Clinic and now he sleeps with a mask over his face that forces air into his nasal passages. After 20 years of never getting to REM sleep, he finally wakes up rested and my mom doesn't have to wear ear plugs.

move to another room. I did this when I could not sleep anymore because of my wife's extremely loud snoring. Now, our sex is more frequent because we experiment more in other areas of the house. Try it, you will like it. And now, over 23% of married couples sleep apart. Just like Lucy and Desi....

Slit his throat.
But seriously there are many remedies you can try (if you can persuade him to try them that is). There are nose strips, sprays, pillows and other things. You just need to see what works for him. Go to you local pharmacist and see what they've got.
