I was thinking of buying a hot-fudge sundae and splitting it with her and I would hide the ring on the bottom of the sundae. I would then eat the last bite, and when she's not expecting it, I would take the ring out of my mouth and put it on her finger and propose to her. Do you guys think she'll find this cute?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for four years and over the last few months we've discussed getting an apartment. A couple days ago he confessed that recently he's had doubts about our relationship and wasn't sure if he was making the right decision, wasn't sure if he'd lived enough to settle down...but while he was in the process (while on the phone with me) of saying that we should be friends for a while, he said that as he was saying this to me, he felt like a part of him was dying. Since then, he said he discovered a deeper, more mature love for me and has no more doubts. He said that all of our plans were overwhelming, the thought of such a huge commitment - but now he's sure.

But during the phone conversation, the same "part of me is dying feeling" happened to me. It was the worst I've ever felt. How can I get rid of my depression and changed feelings to improve our relationship? I feel betrayed that his feelings could change and then come back so quickly. I'm so confused.

I'm pregnant and due in October. For the past 3wks my boyfriend has decided to acknowledge that the baby is his. But for the other 7months of my pregnancy he hasn't helped me at all. He has contributed $18 to buying things for the baby, I've spent hundreds. Now he and his stepmom think that I should let him claim our child on his tax returns. Then we can "split" the money that the baby brings. I think that I should get to claim him myself and keep the money, because I'm the one that will be providing full time for him, and I've already put all the money into him. Please understand it's not about the money to me, I just don't think that the father should benefit in any way right now. Opinions are appreciated.

theres this guy that works at the snackbar at my pool, and i
really like him. i work at the front desk and i see him all the time. ive
seen him look at me a few times and
he is the cutest thing ever. the thing is, he is painfully shy. he barely
ever talks to people that he isn't super close with,
and i really want to get him to open up. i'd talk to him but im
super shy too. ive talked to him before but its mostly when i place
orders for bagels and stuff. i really want to go out with him, but
that would require being his friend and im not really quite there yet.
we're just aquaintences, ive known him since the seventh grade. so i
was thinking of sending him a message on facebook like this:

hey ___,

i know this is like totally random and all, and i wouldve
asked you this a while ago. but i guess i was too chickenshit i never really
could cause we're always working. lol and i try to avoid awkward situations
whenever possible. anyway i was wondering;;; would you wanna hang out
one of these days? like maybe before school starts up?

well just let me know, i know its super random. whatever you say i
promise no awkwardness.i see you all the time at tuck so that would be no good! :]

-sara

how does that sound? i mean it IS super random cause we dont talk all
that much (seeing as he barely ever opens his mouth.) but i want him to be
comfortable with me you know?

my questions:
1. what do you think he'll say?
2. do have any tips on changing something in the message that would make him more likely to say yes?

thank you guys! you rock! :)

Ok this is a hypothetical choice! Say there are two guys and they are both equally hunky and say they love you. Guy A is a former olympic gold medallist, an outstanding member of his church, a brilliant scholar and a highly respected author in his field. He is sophisticated, well travelled and always impecably dressed. He's never been married, isn't very close to his family and not sure if he wants kids. He cares a lot about always impressing his snobby friends. Guy B drives a bulldozer for a living and always wears the same redneck clothes. He plays poker every weekend buy nearly always wins, so he's actually rich but chooses to live in a trailer anyway. He's really almost as smart as guy A but not so ambitious, because he just loves bulldozers. He comes from a very close family has kids from a previous marriage, and he's a really good father.

we fight about everything. im extremly introverted, and she is not overly extroverted, but by comparison, she sometimes seems to be. she wants me to want to go out and do stuff, which im perfectly willing to do, but i don't want to go out any more thatn i want to stay in, and since it takes less effort, i'd rather just stay put. she expects me to once in a while say "let's go do bla bla bla" the thing is, i could say 'let's go do something', but that would be my exact words, and that's not enough for her. she also doesn't like the fact that i always say im sorry. not because im insincere, but just because i say it so much. i don't even know what to do in this town, i've lived here for a year, and about the only places i know to go to have any fun is the movie theater, which closes before we get off of work, and a restruant, which is nice, except we are both on a limited budget. is there anything i can force myself to do? where can i find something fun for us to do? what is fair?

Everyone's always complaining about the bad things about the opposite sex. Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear someone say something nice about the opposite sex for a change?

does not like my mother much. He does not like the way she raised me and some of the things she has done in the past. My mom and I are on good terms and close now.

How do I let him know that he is entitled to his opinion but needs to back off? I love her and I don't like that he does not trust her/like her much.
