Well as I black man, I struggle with people looking and acting afraid or at best uncomfortable around me EVERY SINGLE DAY. Just the mere sight of me makes certain people's hair stand on end. It's a reminder that I am seen as less than human. God forbid I go a day without being reminded of that.
I would honestly say most people feel so much fear and distrust toward black males that they become afraid and cautious over time. It must be hard work for people to walk around in fear, looking all puckered up.
I've had countless days ruined by people's reaction to my blackness and maleness. Some days I try to make people feel more comfortable around me but it gets old and tiring, especially if it's to no avail. Admitedly, there's been times where I just let people's fear of me run wild and I do nothing to change the situation. A good example is if I'm on a bus or train. I know that no matter how crowded the compartment gets, I'll be afforded a wide berth. I've walked through entire malls without having to say "excuse me" or "pardon me" as I try to get past....people literally clear a path for me. I hate it so much. This must be how Frankenstein feels only I'm a human. Oh, and for the record, white women---you can clinch that purse and lock those doors all you want. If you had something worth taking and I wanted it, it would be mine. Sleep tight. Hehe.

No. I'm afraid of grizzly bears and shots though.
Those seem like more reasonable fears.

I'm afraid of *all* men if I'm alone in a parking lot, street, stairway, elevator, etc.
