My bf of two years and I are talking about getting married. He will make a great husband/father, there is no doubt about that. But I am 23. I know there are things that I want to do like travel and explore the world. Can I do that while married? I'm definately not into partying and stuff anymore, I had a pretty wild adolesence. But when I get married I want it to be a good decision, and one that lasts for all time. What are some good tale-tell signs that we are ready for this step??

A friend of mine is in a seriously committed relationship. They have been for what will be one year. She is 15 years older than he is but he thinks she is 4 years older than he is. How can she reveal this secret without destroying what could be her future husband? Do you think after the secret is revealed, the relationship will last? They love each other more than words can express and share most of their time together.

Well right now in my life its really weird, most of my close friends are away at college and Im attending community college, i work a full time job and i go to school at night, i then go to the gym. It just seems that im not into the same things that my friends are, and they are the only friends that i have here. I want to make new friends because they just want to go out to the same clubs and im not really into that anymore where can i go to meet new people that are more on my level and I dont mean that i want to meet people who are just like me that would be boring but have some similarities. I like to go and do new things like go to the city or snowboarding or to the movies and even broadway shows, i like to even stay home and play board games and have some wine but my friends are not into that and plus none of them have cars or jobs or school and everytime we go out i have to pay for them! its really fair i love my friends but, i moved to a new town so that doesnt really help!

If you reffer to some of my other questions you will see that there are rather obvious signs that we are exclusive. Neither one of us is seeing anyone else and we act like a couple, even go to church together, etc., etc., but with all this the one confusing thing is that both of our profiles on myspace still say single. I don't think she is a player, she is a good religious girl. I'm thinking she is waiting for me to change my status first. But I don't want to do that and scare her away if it turns out that she wasn't ready yet. What should I do? Is there a good way to bring this up in conversation?

I am just curious if there are any differences in how a woman would feel about a man based on one situation versus the other:

(Situation A:) He is physically and medically unable to father a child. Examples: injury, illness, congential defect, etc

(Situation B:) He is physically able to father children but simply doesn't want any children.

Note: I suppose a vasectomy situation could be a bit confusing. He could have elected to have the procedure done while being in a relationship with you. OR He may have had the procedure long before he ever met you, for any number of reasons.

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water? "

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

The lecturer replied,

"The absolute weight doesn't matter.

It depends on how long you try to hold it.

"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.

If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.

"In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. "

He continued,

"And that's the way it is with stress management.

If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. "

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.

When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. "

"So, before you return home tonight,

put the burden of work down.

Don't carry it home.

You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you're carrying now,

let them down for a moment if you can. "

"Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

Life is short.

Enjoy it!

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

* Never buy a car you can't push.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

* The second mouse gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull, Some have weird names , and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

What should i do, when the man i love dumps me and week after tells me he thinks he has made a mistake, but things has gotten complicated....there is another girl.

Its almost a year since the break-up, but we have continued being friends and more because he is hope she realize that its not working and leave him instead of him breaking her heart.

He claims he is unable to tell her, because it might cause problems with his other friends who are also in his Masters group at the university he attends.

We spend all our time together, so most believe we are still together. I dont know his friends at school and they dont know me. I am becoming tired of this and it still hurts, because i feel like its not a good position that i am in.

I love him, i do but he is hurting me, just having this girl believe she is his girlfriend. They dont behave like that, while he is not at school or so i am told. As i said we are always together

He is hoping to end it by the time he finishes with school, but he is not sure when exactly is that.....may next year. I dont know if i can live like this anymore. He reasons for not telling her is to protect is school work with the other members in his group.

Please tell me how to deal or what to do with this. Do he reasons make sense?

I was just trying to get a concensus to prove a point and that point is if you women found an attractive wealthy man that would have you, personality would very rarely come into the picture. I believe the immediate attraction would be to the money and the chiseled abs, good teeth, etc. If Bob Smith though, heavier set, kind of goofy looking dude from Mobile Alabama, who was a plumber, made a max of $25,000 a year for the rest of his life, BUT was the most sincere, sensitive, honest, giving and romantic man on the planet, then you girls would take Don Juan anyday; who beats you, cheats on you, is rude and vulgar, and tells you what an unattractive person you are. Just a question ladies, dont get too mad. Just be honest.

There is this guy that I have had an interest in. We send internet messages back and forth but just can't manage to speak when we see each other at the gym. We just look at each other. I feel like I need to make some kind of move or I will be thinking "what if". The only problem is I usually go for the average looking guy and this guy is hot. He makes me nervous. What can I do? For more details look at my last question.

I was doing so well and now it seems that every time I turn around I see him in other people or his face just pops in my head. Why does this happens and how to stop it?

For 3 years a man and i have seen each other around the city we are in and can't keep our eyes off each other. I am married but in a platonic relationship (my husband is open to me seeing others) although i havent before. This man happened to come into my work one day and we finally talked to each other. He gave me his number and asked me out. I waited a while to call him as i was unsure if i should finally cross the line of going outside my marriage. I told him that i was married and he admitted he was too. We decided out of curiousity after all these sightings of each other we had to meet just for coffee. Well.....we couldnt stop at the coffee and find ourselves completely unable to stay away from each other. and in fact we have not even been physically that intimate. We talk for hours. anyhow is it possible for 2 people to have both married the wrong ones and now met their sould mate?

My step mother is one of the kindest, most wonderful women I have ever met. Her ex husband years ago took my stepbrother from her and for 12 years insisted she did not have to pay child support for my brother, instead she drove an hour every weekend to pick him up. She bought all of his clothing, paid medical bills, all kinds of things. She was a great mother. A few years ago her ex husband got remarried and decided to go after her for back child support and won! On what grounds does is it okay for anyone to wait years and years to claim child support on a child and then win? Is there anything that can be done about this rediculous ruling? I am so mad about this. My brother is going to suffer for this because he has been living with my step mother for a year now and is getting ready for college soon. The judge did not grant her child support for the year he was with her to come from the father (unfair and crazy). Oh, and she bought a car from her exhusband for my brother!
