Yes I have many friends who have never had a b/f. I myself did not have a b/f until I was 27, by choice though, I wanted to focus on college and a career before diving into the distraction of a relationship.

Your friend sounds a bit different though, is she feeling insecure about her weight and never leaves the house? I am single right now but that is because I work too much and never go out, Mr. Right is not going to ring her bell if hse is staying home all the time, she needs to get pretty, unfortunately in this day and age men do like a bit of make-up and effort, and she needs to go out, tell her to go out , take her out , but don't go over the top yourself and make her the outcast go in jeans and a ugly tee let her take the spotlight ! Her being over weight is not an issue with all men contrary to what alot of people may say ! All my overweight freinds are married to hot men who treat them great ! Just keep being a great friend she will find someone!

P.S. It is NOT her weight it is how she projects herself that will attract the right man !

I know someone like this woman - you described her to a "T" only she's 30. I have no idea what makes a person get that way, I wonder myself so am curious to see what type of answers you get. I suspect the woman I know to be gay but unwillingly to act on it or share that information with anyone as she fears discrimination. But, I really don't know for sure. I do know she has never cut the apron strings and just moved out of her parental home a year ago. .

Anyway - here's hoping you get lots of thoughts on the subject - although keep in mind - it is all speculation.

First off I dont think she "got this way". She most likely has never really neede a relationship or she would have made it happen. I believe anyone on this planet has the ability to find a relationship and at least a date. She is too shy for her own good or just really comfy with her present state as a single girl.

I have an aunt like that. Shes like 45, she had one boyfriend in highschool, and none ever since. But I guess my Aunt is worse because she never had any friends either. At first I thought she was a lesbian, she might be actually, but maybe shes too afraid of rejection to even attempt a commitment. I think thats the more logical answer bc my aunt also has a degree in law, yet she still works at grocery stores and such. I think its just a fear people have.

I know some girls and some guys who've never had a girlfriend or boyfriend. It does "look" odd I admit.

Myself, I've been married but don't have kids and that makes me feel very strange. I'd love to have had someone say........."hey Dad, can you help me with this"?..........."Dad, will you walk me down the aisle"?

Maybe you could arrange a double date with you and your boyfriend and someone for her.

Or, have a small party at your place or the park and invite say 3 or 4 guys and 3 or 4 girls.

One of my wife's friends is like that. It is not all that surprising really. I think it comes to self-everything really, self-confidence, self-esteem, etc.

I can imagine it would be difficult for a woman or girl (no matter the age) to be very adventurous with dating when the media is showing the world that men and mostly women have to be supermodels to get a date. Unfortunately, because of the media-imposed public view of "beauty" it becomes hard for normal people to compete or even have the self-confidence to try.

Hope this helped.

I had a friend who didn't have a bf until she was 24.
when we would question her about it she would say she was shy and just didn't know how to get one.
but with a Little help and a lot of motivation we were able to help her get one. I think sometimes people just need to be pushed a little in the right direction.

Listen, I NEVER had a boyfriend until I hit 35...There is nothing wrong with me either, it just happened that way. Tell your friend in time, she too will meet someone and not to worry so much. She should go out and enjoy life.

She seems a bit like myself. I'm not one for dating, and I'm 21, college, yada yada yada. Sounds like she has some personal issues with herself, like I do as well. She's probably really insecure with herself, hence being so shy. That's what would make you be this way, but I don't know anyone personally besides myself like this.
