There's everything in the marriage....money, big house, common goals, sense of compromise, good sex life but NO unconditional love.

Isn't this an ideal match?

I was married at 17 and have been married for a year and a half. So the question is not whether I should, but why people feel the way they do.

I was told at the time that it would be wiser to wait until I was older. But I'm of the opinion that being young is a BENEFIT to marriage, because instead of growing up, becoming set in our opinions, habits, and daily routines individually, and then trying to mesh our lives together, we are able to grow together, and head in the same direction. To me, that means a chance to solidify a marriage.

Any thoughts?

I have been involved with a guy for a year now. I met him 8 months after a very nasty divorce. I wasn't interested in a long-term, serious relationship, but it became that very quickly as he is one of the sweetest men that I have ever met. We began talking marriage over the summer, but that discussion stopped after I found out that he had serious financial issues that were concealed from me and in one case outright lied about (he actually stole $20 from my checkbook!!!). I went on a pre-planned vacation with my girlfriend right after that happened and met a nice guy on the trip. I realized that I was probably just feeling hurt about my guy's indiscretions and didn't want to make some dumb mistake so I avoided him. Three months have passed since and while I still feel like I love my boyfriend very much, I also find myself still thinking about the guy from my trip. Through an email forward, the guy got my email address and we have corresponded. He invited me to visit. Do I go? Do I tell?

So a very good friend and I kind of took our friendship a step further. We didn't have sex just making out and some petting. But when I called her the other day to ask her out to lunch, nothing big just wanted to grab some lunch and hang out, she said no she didn't think it was a good idea. Now she doesn't want to see me because she feels uncomfortable. I really don't understand I'm fine with just being friends. I don't know if I should just give her some space for a while and hope it blows over or what. Any advice from the peanut gallery?

to make things brief, my bf and i broke up about six months ago, but we have both couldnt let go-- we loved each other too much. we are finally starting to talk again and having a reconciliation.

the thing is, both of us have really changed over these months, and although conversation flows when were together, there are also a lot of awkward pauses. i dont think that this is any indication that it wouldnt work or anything, i just think were not yet used to each other like we used to be.. but still, getting the ball rolling would be nice.

the simple solution, is to fill each other in on whats been happening these six months without each other... but we both tried dating and short relationships, and thats hardly the right foot to start on..

so, what are some good things to talk about with him? and how do i avoid the awkward pauses? hes artsy, reads the ny times, is really into politics, likes partying, etc.. if those details help at all...

thanks sooo much guys.. ps, im 19

My mother-in-law is martha stewart II, and is very aware of manners and keeps an immaculate house. However when we attend events with my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law these two act like monkeys just let out of the zoo, and she seems completely oblivious to it. They whine and fuss and scream and chew with their mouths open and make rude comments and antagonize my husband and are otherwise just annoying and, quite frankly repulsive. Mind you they are 22 and 24 respectively. How do I handle this? I have ignored it for a long time, but now it is beginning to rub off on my daughter, which I do not appreciate. They also tried to rush my husband's birthday celebration along so as to go out with friends and get drunk, as if their brother is nowhere near as important as their drinking habits. How do I address this?

I used to like this guy, and he found out that I liked him. Well ever since then (and even before that b.c I think he had suspicions that I liked him before he found out I did) he would always try to flirt with other girls in front of me, he would talk about other girls in front of me, and stuff like that. I guess the reason why I figured he was doing it on purpose, or because I was there, is because he would always look at me to make sure I was watching when he would flirt with and compliment other girls, and he would look at me after he finished talking about some girl to see how I would react. And also because when he wasn't trying to make me jealous, he would always look at me, and I admit I would look at him a lot too. I know it's stupid, but I guess how he was always looking at me sort of made me think that he really did like me. Anyways... at first I thought he was trying to make me jealous, or get my attention, but he's been doing this for a year and a few months- literally. I don't know why. We were never really close to begin with, but I tried to distance myself from him as much as possible so that he would stop, because the things he did started to hurt me. I guess that never worked out because it got to the point where I wouldn't even look at him, let alone speak to him or acknowledge him in any way to get him to stop, but he didn't. I've tried to just ignore him, but I've been doing that for over a year, and it's clearly not working. I would never confront him about this, because I hardly speak to him, so I don't know what to do to make him stop. I don't even know why he's doing this. Like I said before, I used to think that he would do it because he was trying to make me jealous, or get my attention, but it's probably because he's trying to reassure me that he isn't interested, or maybe he's sick and finds enjoyment in it. So why do you think he's being so mean? And how can I get him to stop?

P.S I wouldn't be asking this question if I didn't have the tiniest doubt in me that this guy might like me, even though it might sound a little crazy after what you just read. He's just always looking at me, and well it might be because I look at him too, but I don't know. It sounds stupid and immature, but it's true. Thoughts?

Why do most boys only like girls for their apperence? Do they know how shallow that is? I was just wondering because I recently asked a guy out and he was like "No, your not a blonde. I only date blondes." Are all guys like this?

Everytime we argue, she often sticks her fingers in both of her ears and sings a tuneless 'la la la' noise to herself. I've told her that it is childish but she then shouts back doing an impression of me: "It is childish!". I then say that she needs to grow up. She shouts back doing an impression of me but making the impression sound gormless: "You need to grow up!".

Then I storm out of the house as she yell 'ooooOOOhh!' noises at me.

Should I get my own back? Should I call her from work and pretend that I am the police and tell her that her parents have died in their home and they are treating it as suspicious?

Or should I just forgive the stupid childish dipshitt?

I have made a bad choice and realize it and am dealing with the consequences. My parents have disowned me and they are helping my ex get custody of my kids. The choice I made wasn't that bad. I learned from it and expect to move forth with life but I can't find an inner peace of why they won't talk to me Please help.
