Not in a rude way -- I think it is neat to chat with someone and see them smiling at the same time. I am 39, live in Queensland, Australia, and am: "thetablelandguy". I am married....so not interested in romance...just someone nice to talk with.
I am tired of the "chat room" experience, too many bots, and people that can hardly speak English. Hopefully if you can help, let me know. :)

She is married. She is 25 and so is her husband. They've been married about 2 yrs... And she lives with my mom and dad. The husband lives with his mom. When they were newlyweds they rented an apartment together and found they couldn't afford the rent. Then they lived together with my mom/dad, the guy got mad one day and left (went to live with his mom) So now my sister in living with my mom and dad, married and freeloading from my mom and dad (my sister doesn't work)...What can I do , what can the family do about this? This guy she married does have a job, we just are amazed that he hasn't taken any responsibility. My sister and her husband act like they are high school boyfriend/girlfriend sweet hearts. They act like if nothing is wrong with the way they live, though my mom and dad are silently upset about the whole thing. Thank you for all feedback.

Maybe it's me but I get increasingly frustrated when my husband, who is often spoiling for a fight and won't accept an apology. I'm not perfect I'm human and like the rest of us I can occassionally be at worst thoughtless but usually just a bit dippy or forgetful. A typical example would be if he asked me to pick up something from a shop on my way home from work, if I forget..... (I'm at that age when I can forget why I walked into a room,I put newspapers in the freezer and instantly forget someone's name after an introduction) anyway.... if I forget, I say I'm sorry, he imediately retaliates with 'No you're not... you always say that, you're not sorry at all you just can't be bothered..... rant ,rant .rant,' this is just a mild example... I can't win. It seems he is not happy unless he is painting the worst possible picture of me. If I believe him I must me the most thoughtless calculating and manipulative ***** ever.... I really don't think I am, and If I am, why does he stay?

We are all in agreement that the first impression is usaly the deal maker or deal breaker . Every once in a while we hear about guys who have fracked up royaly on the first date or first encounter, but somehow managed to get a second chance and turn things around .

How did they get that second chance ?

What did they do to win your heart on the second go around ?

Ok, so I have been broken up with my ex (obviously) but the whole time we were good friends and kept in touch. (we were also in different states) now, we decided to be back together because we realized we love each other deeply but we we want to get married and move in together. Is that a bad idea?? because of the military, it was not our choice to live in the same state. and because of the military, the only way to get THE SAME DUTY STATION together is if we get married. Is that a bad idea???

What is it with people and marriage anyway? I mean, what part of the vows seem to not be plain?

Where does it say that you marry for happiness or that you have a RIGHT to be happy in or out of marriage? Isnt happiness something that you have a hand in making or destroying by what you do or fail to do too?

Where is the part of divorce is okay if you changed your mind or dont feel it anymore? Did I miss something? I thought that divorce was only if you are cheated on and you didnt basically force them to cheat on you.

Why is it okay to change your mind or lose the feeling and have that mean something? If you suddenly dont like your house or car or contract obligations, you dont get to just change those. So why do so many think they can in marriage?

Lastly, if you lose that feeling or give up, why should you not have to pay your spouse for not honoring the commitment you made and wasting their time, efforts, feelings, etc?

Am I the only one who thinks this way anymore

I have joint custody but they come over with ripped shoes and clothes that do not fit. I am trying to put money away for their college(three little ones). I can not let them go around with clothes that are unwearable. I do not hesitate about purchasing what they need and hopefully can still save some money as well. Any suggestions out there?
