My husband and I are going to a Chrismas party and we are going to change gift there. 2 of his good friends have big families and we can't really afford to buy eveyone $50 gifts. Would it be alright to get a family present. If so, what should I give. Both families have younger kids.

not that I am lonely yet. Just a simple question. My Fiancee passed away 7 months ago and people are trying to hook me up with different people telling me to get out more. I just want some advice on what to say. I know I am not ready to date anybody and don't even plan on it for a while. but how soon is too soon?

Hi, I've been dumped by a guy 3 weeks ago... our relationship only lasted 2 months, but I liked him for more than half a year and I really expected more... and I still couldn't get over him.
There is a cute guy at my college who likes me and I kinda like him but I still think way too much about my ex.
Should I hook up with the new guy to help me forgeting the ex?
Also consider that no matter what happens b/w us, I'm gonna see the new man 3 times a week for 2 years at school!

What would it be called if you were on the phone having a conversation and the person knowingly hangs up?

I met a wonderful man who I talk to on the phone 3-4 times a day. For the last month we have had some really intense, romantic conversations, and talked about a lot of personal things. Now he says he needs some space and some time to work on these personal things (I know what they are). He wants to slow things down between us. He wants to continue to talk and stay friends but doesn't want to speak romantically anymore, at least not until he gets his personal life straightened out, to be friends and see where it takes us from there. Is this possible, to move backwards and forget the things we spoke of in the past? Is it possible to slow down and continue talking and make it back to the romantic feelings we both feel for each other?

Ok..got a court date. Jan 8th. My hubby wants to have either joint custody or full custody and I don't agree.
These are my points...He is not a citizen..has a green card. Domestic violence was involved on his part during the marriage.
Got a report from hospital where he hurt our son.
Recently he got a ticket for not having our son in a car seat.
I have been with our kids since they were born/ never worked
Now, they live with me since we seperated.

But the catch is, he is trying to say I am cheating on him. He also has proof. All he has is hearsay and rumors. He has a lawyer and I don't have the money for one. What to do?

Some of the added details to my last question
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al1WMpd0jbnS_7rHGRnIvA_sy6IX?qid=20061213034517AArNgsH

I haven't seen her since she was about 7. She was always in our thoughts, however there was a family disagreement which keep her from seeing us.
My cousin had been molested by somebody in her apartment complex (long story), the man who did this is currently on trial for his crimes. Here is the problem: my cousin seems to think he did nothing wrong (she is still a child and doesn't know she's been taken advantage off by a piece of ****) She may also have tried some drugs. Most of my info. is rumor, since we have been out of the mix for a while.

So my next question is - If your in our shoes, would this change any of your opinions? Would you still take her in?
Don't think by me asking any of these questions I am against it because of her history, that doesn't factor in, it just makes it harder. I just want your opinions.

I am trying to make a good list for rules on meeting a girl for relationship purposes. Yes, as dumb as this sounds, a person like me needs the rules. Dating women is complex and frustating. Please look at my list and give me your wisdom on anything i need to add, delete, or change. Thankyou

1. Do not talk about sex or anything that remotely relates to sex
2. Do not flirt with her friends
3. Always meet her in person
4. Do not talk about sensitive issues (religion, politics, etc.)
5. Never talk about your feelings about her
6. Do not try to be her friend before you go out on a date (can someone please explain to me how do go about doing this?)
7. Do not ask for her phone number, facebook, aol, msn
8. These rules have exceptions, so use your best judgement

First of all one of the reasons why I am scared of marriage is that the guy I marry would turn into a ferocious beast and physically or emotionally abuse the life out of me. I've had relatives and friends in that situation.

So how many years should I date this guy or be friends then date to really fully know who he is so that I am absolutely certain he won't abuse me or the kids if we ever have any?

I'm single and got a lot of growth and maturity to do. I'm only 22 even though a lot of women that age are getting married.

He isn't behind enough that it would be cost effective to take him back to court, just enough to make it financially difficult for me.

I'm kind of sick of how people think that maintaining marriage is sooooo hard. Not all marriages are...as long as you have the right partner, things can go reasonably smooth. My husband and I have been together for 5 years, and believe it or not, we've never had a blow-out. We talk things out like the adults we are. We have our arguments, but who doesn't? Things get better before the day is over.

I'm not trying to brag about my relationship, but I just want other people's input. Not all marriages are hard work. It shouldn't be. Both people should be mature enough to take care of each other and respect each other and look to the future and see each other in it.

Is your marriage difficult?
