Family & Relationships - 18 November 2006

My fiancee and I are from opposite sides of town.
He lived 1 hour north of the city and I lived 1 hour south of the city.

When we got serious in our relationship he moved home (and changed jobs) to come closer to me (I have a great job and he wasnt overly happy in his job) and now lives where I am from.

His parents live about 1/2 hour past where he used to live making it about 2 1/2 hours drive from where we both now live.

He has lived out here for just under 2 years now. His parents have not once been out to see him and our house.

We are expected to visit them every 2 - 3 weeks. I have put my foot down and refuse to see them, until they make an effort. While this may seem nasty and unfair on my fiancee I dont see why we have to loose a whole day from our weekend when they wont make any effort?

How do we get them to come and see us?
Am I being harsh / unfair ect on my fiancee?

I man told me that I was very pretty, had a lot going for me, nice family, kept in shape, accomplished and could get any man I wanted. I told him I was attracted to him, liked him and wanted to see him but wasn't ready to date yet because I just got out of a relationship.

Everyone tells me he is nice and friendly. He was respectful to me and for 4 months we continued to talk about work and our lives but one night he asked me how I released sexual tension, if I used a "battery operated device", if I slept with my ex etc... I felt like he was implying that I slept around.

I found this offensive and said so. I said if he respected me he wouldn't have talked to me that way. He said he considered it "mature conversation". I told him I didn't believe it and then he said that "I was an easy target and he could have taken advantage of me" but because he thought "highly of me" he chose not to. I was hurt that he called me an "easy target" and told him to stop calling.

Here is my story. We have been together for 3 yrs and we have a son together but he keeps breaking up with me bc he has a problem with my family interfering in our relationship. My family feels we should get back together with him bc we got a son together. I dont want to deal with the emotional rollarcoaster again. I am trying to get him out of my system but he wont leave me alone. HE BROKE UP WITH ME. I dont know why he wont leave me alone. He seems he dont want me but does not want anyone else to have me either. I still love him with all my heart of course I would we got a son together but I just cant take this. I have somone new in my life and my ex bf is trying to ruin that relationship. So should I try to work things out with him again? Or just tell him the only relationship we can have is parents to our son?

READ THE WHOLE CONFUSING, BADLY-WRITTEN THING... and get ten points.

Okay, so i had this friend and she was like a REALLY good friend in 7th grade, and in 8th grade we were distant, but we still talked and stuff. So i was upset in 9th grade because she just totaly disbanded me and stuff and i DO have other friends but i still wished i was friends with her and so i put a hint that she wasn't talking to me and my other friend on my AIM profile. When she saw it and got realy mad i was very apologetic. This was two weeks ago and now i can't tell if shes mad at me or not and i know most people will just say well she must have made other friends and moved on but i don't want that to be the case. HOW CAN I GET MY BEST FRIEND BACK??

NOTE: she is not, was not, and never will be my girlfriend.
i am aware that i have done stupid things.

We are in high school. Long story short: She likes me, starts to flirt. After awhile, I like her too, but do nothing. This week, asked her to go to the movies with me. She accepted. Thigs were fine for a few days. Last couple of days, she seemed cold and uninterested. Especially earlier today. I told her to call me by three. She calls at 3:05 and says she can't make it. Her reason? Her friend pissed her off and she's too mad and tired to go. Does that sound like total bullsh*t to you? It does to me.....but I don't get it! I've already asked this, and everyone says maybe something happened. If that's true, why didn't she just tell me that? And she was acting the same with some of her friends, and looked like she was having fun around them....plus, what should I do when I see her Monday?? Please answer that last part, it's IMPORTANT!
What if I just say, "It was a good movie," and then see what she has to say? Any better ideas?

I am almost 21 and my family still controls my life. I am engaged to an amazing guy who is 26 and just out of the military. The only problem is my family doesn't support my engagement or marriage. So far, they have threated me with money and keep telling me how disappointed they are because I am getting married. I have 3 semesters left of school, I am applying to law school and graduate school and I am not quitting school. I don't understand why they can't just be happy for me? This is not new. My family has been controling my life since I was a kid (obviously) but when will it end? I am very independent and I honestly hate it when my mom says to me that since she is my mother she can do and know whatever she wants with me and my actions just because she is my mother and my grandma is the same way. How do I make it stop and get them to give their blessing so I am not miserable on one of the happiest days of my life???

im dating a guy in the army and hes stationed 14 hours away. we talk every night, but when he comes home i only see him maybe 5 times...and he could be home for two weeks. well hes getting ready to deploy and decided he wants a break. he said it has nothing to do with us, but that he justs needs some space to figure some stuff out and get organized. my question is, should i just lay off him and wait (which is what ive been doing) or should i try to get over him and move on? i love him to death but he seems kinda selfish sometimes and it makes me wonder why i love him...but u know how love goes, it doesnt matter what he does..i still love him.

One of my guy friends from High School who I dated the summer after my freshman year in college has called me every week about 3 or 4 times for a year and a half. We are really good friends and always have good conversations when we talk. He has known that I have liked him still since that summer but it has just never worked out for us. she is in colorguard and im in the band. we also both play the same instrument. she usually brings her instrument to the games and playsin the stands,bit she always decides to sit beside me. this past friday at the game, she yelled my name when i came in the band room,and put on a smile, then and at the game she took my horiscope, and rubbed perfume from the magazine on my hand. then when my other friends were trying to talk to me about something, she said "no, bill's my friend!" and started patting/stroking me on the head. also she kept asking me what was going on in the game and smiling when she talked to me. i like her, but i dont know if she likes me back.
