Hello everyone, heres the story: They dated for about a year and a half, one year ago, before she cheated on him. After she cheated on him, he STILL was with her, trying to "work things out". (Which pisses me off) anyway...since then (keep in mind we are all in our EARLY 20's) she has gotten engaged, married and had her first child a few months back. All which she likes to call/text my guy about (which I think is to make him feel bad, like look what I have you dont type of thing, cause she is a dumb *itch). I started dating my guy about 7 months ago, which the first few months I kept quiet about her messages, until I told him to stop talking to her because he would always be mad/depressed after he talked to her. He told her that now since she has a family, they shouldnt speak anymore, and she said 'no, its ok'..not getting the hint, and she still continues to message him about every other week. What can i do to make her get the hint? When my bf handles it, she doesnt get it.

my daughters father signed away his parental rights 15 years ago and has not had contact with either of us since. My dauther has not seen her grandfather in years, but wants to go to his funeral. I feel awkward, but I think I should go and support her. What do I say when we run into him? The funeral is tommorow. Any answers would be helpful.

I have a 5 year old daughter and I don't feel comfortable letting her play alone in the back yard even though we've gone to great lengths to childproof it and have a fence. My worry is child preditors. If she was playing in the back yard, of course someone would watch her from in the house, but you hear all the time about kids getting abducted these days and the parent just turned their back for a moment. Am I the only one with these fears and is there an alternative so that my daughter can be more active? I don;t want her to sit and watch TV (or even read) all day. I also wanted to add, that when I was 5, my parents did let me play in the back yard, alone and they didn't watch me like a hawk. Why, do you think, is it so much scarier these days?

I broke up with my boyfriend of five years in April this year because of religious differences...he did say he wanted to convert before but I realize that I couldn't be selfish to make him give up the one thing that he has faith in, which is why I gave him up. Again i have a dilema..i am pregnant and my baby`s father wants an open relationship. I was reading some of the past answers for this question but I think my situation was a bit different.
I just started crying, it didn't hurt and at first if felt good than out of no where I just started crying. I didn't really feel particularly emotional I just started crying. He stopped and asked what was wrong and I said "I don't know" and he said "yes you do" but really I don't know. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

My ex boyfriend and I dated for 2 years. The first few months of our relationship were beautiful. After about 3 /4 months he started suggesting that I wear other things, like sweats or a t-shirt. Then about 6 months into our relationship he hit me for the first time. I was stupid and stayed in the relationship after that first time. As a result, I was beat for about a year and a half. I wasn't "allowed" to talk to other guys, or even go over to my best friend's house (she lives next door to me). Basically he wanted me all to himself and didn't want me associating with anyone else for fear that they might find out about him. We broke up after two years because i started being a bitchy gf to get rid of him and so he took up this other girl at his college. That was short-lived cuz he didn't really like her he just needed someone-we still had sex while they were 2gethr. He moved to AL 4 months ago and i havent spoken to him since but all of a suddden i can't stop thinking of him.

I'm new to this board and I want to thank everyone for responding. I have to add to my previous post that I left my husband 5 years ago because of his drinking and self destructive behavior. He went into a rehab program for 4 weeks. I was fully supportive and was willing to work on trusting him again. He is part of a very supportive AA group and has continued to go to meetings even though he "fell off the wagon". He has been lying to them just as he had been lying to me. His abuse never turns outward. He may help around the house and has always held a job but he has no ambition and no sense of responsibility. He has stolen money from our son and won't work more than 30-35 hours a week. I have done everything to keep the stress levels down for him and even cut him off from the bank account to protect him from himself. I would support him if he came to me but he waited for me to find out, he admitted that! I don't believe in divorce so this is really hard for me.Thank you all!

Okay so I was married to this jerk for 6 years we had two gorgeous children. We divorced in 2000 after I left him in because of domestic violence. Now he has a new woman (she knows nothing of his violence towards me). I don't care what he does with his life but it really burns me that he treats the children so shabby. He's cheap with them, hateful to them, and basically only visits them because it's "his right". (On this last visit he spent a good deal of the time on the phone with his broad he took the kids hiking and wouldn't get water bottles for them they both got really sick) The ex tells me that he treats them badly because it's my fault, I have poisoned them against him. I have tried everything to forge a bond between the kids and him but my kids are smarter than me, they know when to let go of a no win situation. He told my daughter than he treats this woman better than he treated me is because she's Anglo and I'm a "lowly Latina". What should I do?
