My ex and I were together 4 years, some great times, but some
bad..like with everyone..he said some horrible things a few
weeks ago, I know it was anger..anyway he left this long message
stating how sorry he was, how he never meant anything he
said, that he was hurt and angry, never wanted to hurt me like
that...Can we talk, that he does not want to be like that towards
me..Do I take the chance and listen, I mean I still love him and
don't want to turn my back on him if this is for real...What do
you think? He has a substance problem and if we can address
that issue then how can I turn my back on him...

Hi,

Please can anyone help, my girlfriend an i have been together for three years an we have been living together for 19months.

We are now having major serious arguments about everything from money to leaving stuff around the house. an not listening or helping with things To not doing housework. It is manily me that is not doing things an causing arguments. Its more me casuing the problems!

But now she wants us to break up cos she has had enough of me not changing or not doing things an it going back to the way it was as in not helping etc. she has turfed me into the spare room now as well moving all my stuff in their

I dont want to loose her an i do really love her but i dont know what to do to make her love me again an to get through this. I dont want to be with anyone else. What can we do practically an say to make things get better?

My ex and I divorced 9 yrs ago, we have a 12 year old daughter but my ex hasn't bothered with her properly at all in the 9 years. He shows up every few years asking to see her, but doesn't follow it through. He has a new family and even more children. I have been in a really happy and stable relationship for nearly 8 years now and my partner wants to become legal guardian for my daughter should anything happen to me, but last year when I asked my ex he said no. In order to stay on top of our bills I set up an account for my wife with a certain amount put in weekly and made her responsible for certain items. She has yet to stay in budget and half way through the week needs more money to buy items for the whole family such as bread, milk and other things. I used to give in but since it is not changing I have had to say there is no money and make her figure something out.
Basically I am using the techniques that parents use on kids to get them to learn through experience, but people here think I am nuts for "punishing her this way" and that we should talk about it more.
Am I so wrong?
