I trust you mean an erection not a dead person (guess you'd have two 'stiffys' to wake-up to then)
It's nothing to be embarrassed about, you should walk tall and stand proud, oh! you're already standing to attention!!

What's embarassing to be normal? And what girlfriend or partner would be embarassed?
'Stiifys' occur during REM (rapid eyemovement sleep) - one of the numerous stages of sleep that occurs several times a night. It's nothing to do with dreaming - more's the pity - wish I could choose my dreams so realiably! Incidentally, same phenomena applies to girls too - it's just a lot less obvious !
Check out the source below to learn more.
ps. I don't know why so many think 'it's all going to stop working one day' - think you're all reading too much viagra spam - it'll only generally stop when you get the ultimate stiffy - RIP!

Mmmmm good question, no logical answer!
1. You can't stop this natural occurrence
2. Why would you be embarrassed by your own body
3. The penis sometimes gets a mind of its own and nothing in the world will stop it from getting erect!
4. You could try hitting it with the bed snake bat
Sorry mate, this is something all males suffer from and the is nothing we can do to stop it!

Who's with you at that time for you to be so embarrassed? It's perfectly normal and natural for a male to have a morning erection. And it's not caused by what you dream about, it's a reaction to needing to relieve your bladder.)
I can only guess that you must be waking up next to your mum or your sister to be so embarrased.
A wife or girlfriend would surely understand.

I am not a guy, so I don't really know this one, but my guess would be is that there is no way one can control how they wake up. I would go see a dr. if it is really bothersome to you. Maybe when you go to bed put a warm heating bottle down there, or try watching a really scarey movie or something. You are on your own with this one bud.

I don't think you can, your body dreams of what it wants to. Try having gym shorts on under your other pants while your sleeping over with friends and such, that or just sleep away from them.
