My boyfriend and I are 32 and 29, respectively, and we want to get married. We live 1200 miles from my family and old friends. It would be logical to get married in my hometown, as that is where the majority of the would-be guests live. However, we don't have thousands of dollars of extra money saved, and I'd really rather have money for a down payment on a house than a wedding. BUT there's that part of me that still really wants to get to wear a beautiful dress and be a princess for a day.
Weddings are such a commodity now that it's hard to figure out a way to do it really low key...

Any thoughts or ideas? No wedding? Or what?

I have allways heard not to worry about things that you cant control. However to me worring is the new form of fight or flight responce to dangers. In a concrete sociaty the danger is not immediate but it is there regardless whether one worries or not. I also believe that worring about a situation is all right if you solve it it a timelly matter even with some counseling. buy danger in a concrete sociaty I mean bills, health problems and or family problems ect

My stepgrandad was dying recently and I spent 2 days by his bedside, with others from my dads family. This is part of my family that I did not see much when growing-up, because my Mum wouldnt let us have contact with my dad nor them. My Grandmother and step-grandad brought us up for 1 year when we were little. I thought that I would let her know what I have been doing, because once she was close to my dads family when they were happily married. Boy I was wrong, she went ballistic, saying bringing up all sorts of stuff ie I dont give my stepdad a fathers day card (hes 10 years older than me), nor do my kids give him a card as grandad, but my sister in law does!! Plus I never visited him in hospital when he nearly 'died', last year, but he wasnt that ill (he had a bite that turned into cellulitis on his leg), plus my car had blown up and I never had transport at the time. She said that I need psychological help. But now I have lost my stepgrandad and my Mum is not talking to me.

My friend and I were sending stuff to his email account, but my yahoo account doesnt work when I send attached messages. I just use my moms comcast account to send attached emails. When I logged on I saw an email from some guy named John or something. "It was titled pictures from the other night lol." I clicked on to it and there were dirty pictures of my Mother and other guys doing dirty sexual things. My friend was right there and if freaked out. I cant get those images out of my head and my friend probably thinks my mom is a slut. Like my mom is single but is this normal? My friend just like stood there in awe... i just walked to my room and shut the door and dident come out all night... should i approach my mom and ask her about this.. and what should I do about my friend? HELP PLEASE!

I was involved in a 4 year relationship with a very nice guy, however I feel I´m not in love anymore, I told him, we broke up after two week I met this really handsome man, who I thought was never going to approach me. I told him I knew he was dating other girls, he denied it and said he had to compare if it was worth to leave one for the other, however I told him I was not a game nor dessert. the problem is, she needs me to do everything for her, and get everything at the store, etc, which, I donot mind at all, but, she isn't very nice to me.
For example, she gave me a list of 12 things and I got 2 of the wrong items, and she said in her nasty NY accent(I have nothing against NY'ers)"I guess you'll have two things you're taking back"
I'm so bitter and angry at her, I hate to do anything for her. Anyone in my situation?
