I've asked in the cooking and other sections of Answers...I've bought a 50 lb bag from my local coop. I'm grinding it and making bread. It tastes the same I guess. I can't find anyone who can tell me for sure if it's the same wheat. It can't harm me right???? Who knows...I might just sprout horns and say moo.

I know, weird question. But if a station is on even slightly higher ground, then an approaching train will lose speed naturally, without braking (as much). The saved energy would then be used to help the train accelerate (down-hill) as it leaves the station the other side.

I realise that the differences in speed/acceleration involved would be marginal, but with the energy needed to move the hundred tons plus of just an average commuter train, any small help would translate into a substantial saving of energy.

Now I may be being a muppet, and there may be a very obvious reason why this is a bad idea, but I can't find it. OK, ok, considerable start up costs of hoiking Waterloo up 10 feet in the air, but aside from that........ can anyone tell me why this wouldn't work in principle?

i read that you can recycle paper by shredding it and make packaging materials. Now the thing is, I really don't know how to make packaging materials out of shredded paper? AND, in this project, we have to make something that is not costly, not time consuming, and very scientific. So guys, I really need your help and support. Thanks so much!

we have a science investigatory project this month, and the main idea here is environmental care and cleanliness or simply recycling. There are a lot of paper thrown away and we want to lessen it and make it as something... could you please give some guidelines, examples of recycling paper and some websites that can help me here? thanks so much!

Some people put bumperstickers on their cars, engage their friends, family and collegues into animated discussions, volunteer for the environment, or otherwise promote their "green" intentions. Others prefer to work behind the scenes, even to the point of being embarrassed by being labeled an environmentalist.

Which are you? Or are you somewhere in between?

is there somewhere that 'eco-friendly' clothing is rated? I'm wondering what would be a total lower cost to the environment, thinks like t-shirts made from PET (recycled plastic) or organically grown materials like hemp and cotton? How do you take into account transportation costs? Thanks

May I consider "be a better planet" campaign a flop if my Sylvania bubble (sent by Yahoo, made in China) died after only 1 month of service?
What should I do with "lasts 7 years" mark?

I'd better buy 4 GE bubbles (made in USA) just for 1 buck. They will serve 2 months each.

I've browsed online, and failed to find out the right tips to caring for bamboo plants.

I want to take care of my bamboo plant, buying distilled water is costly, however looking at saving $$, can I use boiled water that is purified and later chilled, to change the water every what, 2 wks or a month?

Kind replies, my friend....THANKS!

You know how it is when you go camping and you don't want to carry anything heavy in your backpack, so you pack as lightly as possible? Well, I have a new product I want to market it is a powdered form of H2O you just have to add water to it and you have a gallon of fresh clean clear water and you don't have to lug it all over the place. Would you buy it from me for $2.00 a gallon size plastic bag of it? If so, e-mail me and I will tell you the particulars.

Do dead light bulbs that you leave plugged in consume energy? For instance, in my bathroom, I have a vanity light fixture with 4 CFL bulbs. Two of them have burned out already and I was wondering if it mattered whether I removed them or not.

I am pretty lazy. I admit it. I still want to help reduce my output of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, reduce my strain on the environment, and lower the electricity and water bills. I just don't want to have to spend an hour a day washing out cans and bottles or digging my compost pile. Any suggestions?

You know like if you plant it in a spot so the sun dosent hit it, it will work alot less harder and your ac bills will be reduced and help save energy. Is this true?

I have seen and heard about these companies that will install solar power panels on your roof and they claim depending on how sunny it is where you live that your electricity bills will be drastically reduced and you could even generate so much power that your electric meter will spin in reverse and the power company will pay you for the excess power generated. So, my question is, how much does one of these solar power arragements cost?

I think it's paper towels, simply because of the energy it takes to harvest wood, the chemicals in it, the energy it takes to manufacture and package, the packaging and all of the costs of manufacturing that, and the landfill space that it hogs.

I wanted to see who out there really cared about this big concern. From what I hear, those in Australia are very aware of the concerns that face our world. But, it seems that here in the U.S., residents in general, are not concerned.

What have you done to play your small part to help. I know we can't all afford to put up solar panels or compost our organic waste, but I'm sure with a little effort from a lot of people, we can make a difference.

Personally, I recycle everything I can. I'm lucky that we're given a green trash bin by the city to do this.

I also don't fertilize profusely.

I also try my best to keep the organic wastes and put them in a composting bin.

And, because my husband owns a trucking business, we use FFI products to help eliminate 75% of the emissions that his trucks and our personal vehicles would typically emit. www.paulsam.myffi.biz

Does anyone have any additional suggestions that won't break our bank accounts?
