They never put anything out on recycling day. The wife seems like a kind of snob, doesn't talk to the neighbors, not too friendly. I guess she doesn't care about the rest of the world. But recycling is so easy, and it really really bothers me that she can't be bothered.

Any ideas on how I could approach her about recycling? I even spoke to the town council, and they don't want to force people to recycle, so they won't do anything.

Are the lids made from unrecyclable plastic or is it something to do with the fact that they can be squashed down to a smaller size when transported with out them on? I never know whetether I can stick them in the recycling bin seperately or if they have to go in the trash.

I have joined the student senate at my community college (way out in Tucumcari, NM) and one of the concerns is that the school uses way too much paper, hence the recycling. But I can't find any place near by that would recycle paper, what should I do? PLEASE HELP

if i decline it, i'll be thirsty, and it will still go to the dump anyway.
if i accept it, that would be like promoting styrofoam.

so what do i do to not be a bad person?

I understand that water can be gotten from the tap while other drinks aren't as readily available...therefore drinking a bottle of water isn't necessary.

But...if I'm out or at a concert and I decide not to get water, but I buy another bottled drink...isn't it the same thing? Aren't I using the same amount of energy (possibly more) by drinking the other product?

So...why is only bottled water getting bashed lately and not all bottled drinks?

Are the costs to cultivate and convert biofuels too great? Is it worth all the additional energy, transportation and time?
What’s more important, fuel or food?

Looking for some sort of Market Analysis. Who are their competitors, market cap, sales figures, etc. They sell wind turbines. IS that a hot product now with the trendy-ness to "Go green" especially in the US?

I am in Broward County, FL. As a favor, I am helping a friend clean out his small company's offices. They're moving. He is in a very small commercial park which does not provide, or have contacts with, any places where you can DROP OFF electronics items to be recycled. He has 6 old computers that need to be recycled properly. Not by hiring somebody with a sledgehemmer to come smash them, which another friend actually suggested to me (!)

No, I need to follow the law and have this disposed of properly. And we are NOT going to hire a trash disposal company to do this for him.

I know there must be a place, like a junkyard or some kind of waste mgmt center, in Broward County, FL, where a person can just drive in and drop off items to be salvaged/recycled. And yet, calling the county's offices has not helped.

Does anyone out there know where I can take the stuff? Thank you for the advice. And please, if you own/know of a trash disposal company, plz do NOT respond.

Is there an innovative air conditioner which does not emit those harmful gases? I get a few hits in Google about natural air conditioners, which works based on pumping the water. I do not have the complete details though. Any ideas please?

PS: I know there are natural air conditioners like Swiss etc, so please give alternates ;-) based on technology.

I am asking this because most of the carbon calculators are not set up for people who are already environmentally concious, most of the question do not seem to apply to our home or we are already doing what is suggested.

I have crab grass and clovers growing in my gravel driveway and I'd like to get to them before my landlord sprays pesticides all over the place! (I've been weeding them, but I'd need a good 48 hours straight to do it all!) :)

GM can't stop advertising it, even though it's a load of crap which DOESN'T make the air cleaner, and will drastically increase the price on corn, and increase global warming. I prefer dependency on oil companies rather than that. What can be done? Do you feel something should be done?
