I am asking this because most of the carbon calculators are not set up for people who are already environmentally concious, most of the question do not seem to apply to our home or we are already doing what is suggested.

You can try this site: http://my.neutralexistence.com

Basically you enter all of your information to start and it will calculate an average. Then you can go the the action page and choose all of the reduction things you are doing and it will recalculate and show you how much you are rreducing your footprint by and give you your new total.

Multiply your income by the carbon intensity of the economy. That will automatically factor in all the carbon emitted by the economy on your behalf. By the way, that number may be hard to come by. The source doesn't have it in detail for example. Energy intensity is much easier to find, but that does not necessarily relate directly to carbon intensity.

If you say, "hey, that just means the more money you make the larger your carbon footprint!", then you are exactly right. The only way to really cut your carbon footprint in half is to cut your income in half. (Either that or move to a lower intensity country like Uruguay or Switzerland or Finland) Because every dollar you earn was paid at some point by someone who doesn't make any effort to reduce their carbon footprint. Think of it this way, your employer pays a dollar to you that they got from someone else paying them, who got it from someone else paying THEM, and so on through countless people. Some of those people are environmentalists are some are shameless polluters. The average for the country is the carbon intensity. The average amount of carbon per dollar. You cannot escape it. They call it GLOBAL warming because LOCAL effects are meaningless.

You may calculate that yourself. Look at your gas/electric bill for the month. Look at the amount of gasoline you burn the same time. Summer and winter may be different so every month for a year is best so you know.
Do you use a barbeque? Gas or briquets? How much pounds?
Do you burn wood in the fire place?
Do you eat meat? How much? Pounds
Then go to these calculators to sum the amount.

I use the one below; I'm already pretty green but it seems to work well.
