GM can't stop advertising it, even though it's a load of crap which DOESN'T make the air cleaner, and will drastically increase the price on corn, and increase global warming. I prefer dependency on oil companies rather than that. What can be done? Do you feel something should be done?

Dont worry it wont go far, last I heard on a news blurb if you planted every available acre to corn/ethanol you could only supply ten% of the fuel needed. Other crops are more suited to ethanol production than corn also. I think corn, corn politicians and corn farmers will eventually prove out the fiasco themselves.

Write to public officials.

This would work even better if you lived in a major corn producing state. Senators, governors and representatives from Nebraska, Kansas and other places in the grain belt are over-hyping ethanol to put pork-barrel money into the hands of their small but loyal farming constituents.

Write an editorial for your local newspapers and start a grassroots campaign if you're up to it. The science is mostly on your side so victory is possible.

I'm not sure the "Go Yellow" part of your argument is such a bad thing. Why shouldn't the price of corn finally go up? The farmers have needed something like this to happen for decades.

As for it not saving the world ....... may be not, but it does help eliminate our need for Middle Eastern, Mexican and South American oil. What is wrong with that?

This "Global Warming" thing is based on theory, not fact. It is hard to show any solid evidence pointing to either side of this issue. I noticed that you gave no statistics or facts to back up your opinion.

Write letters to the editor of local papers explaining your point; contact your local GM dealers with a polite letter explaining that the Live Green Go Yellow philosophy is not going to save the earth; write letters to your state agencies when they give building permits for ethanol manufacturing facilities; write letters to GM PR department explaining your point of view

continuing what you are doing (educating the public about the problems) is the only thing you can do.

just make sure your facts are straight and have a few sources up your sleeve to throw back at someone who contests you.

Nothing spoils a good argument faster than faulty facts.
