I wanted to see who out there really cared about this big concern. From what I hear, those in Australia are very aware of the concerns that face our world. But, it seems that here in the U.S., residents in general, are not concerned.

What have you done to play your small part to help. I know we can't all afford to put up solar panels or compost our organic waste, but I'm sure with a little effort from a lot of people, we can make a difference.

Personally, I recycle everything I can. I'm lucky that we're given a green trash bin by the city to do this.

I also don't fertilize profusely.

I also try my best to keep the organic wastes and put them in a composting bin.

And, because my husband owns a trucking business, we use FFI products to help eliminate 75% of the emissions that his trucks and our personal vehicles would typically emit. www.paulsam.myffi.biz

Does anyone have any additional suggestions that won't break our bank accounts?

As menionted, I'd really like to hear about what others are doing. I appreciate that some people ride bikes and that's wonderful. Unfortunately, the majority of the world doesn't have that level of commitment. But, just like voting, if more people did a little bit, it would make an impact.

Yes, I drive an SUV. My husband and I have 4 children and it would be difficult to drop them off at daycare on a bike. But, I offset the emissions by 75% by using FFI's products. And, there are hybrids that now emit more toxins then my vehicles.

I would love to hear about the little things that aren't too much to ask of everyone. ie., recycling, etc. Using plants that are appropriate for our regions. What else?

I haven't seen the 11th hour, but I've heard of it. I've heard that it's similar to "An Inconvenient Truth" which I did see. A great documentary.
When it comes to caring for the environment, I care a lot. I'm an environmentalist. I go to the extreme sometimes.
Sometimes when I'm in my car I'll have some things that are recyclable (that I might get from a convenience store or what have you). The easy way would be to throw them away, but I wait until I get home so I can recycle them (or recycle them on the way home if I drop by a place that recycles).
An additional suggestion that I have that is free is to use "CO2 Saver." You can find it on the internet, and it will cut the CO2 emissions from your computer by a lot. I've got it installed and I'm glad that I did.
I also recycle everything at the dump. Reason being, the people that pick up our recycle at the door don't always get everything, even when it's perfectly recyclable. So I go to the dump to make sure it gets recycled.
Well hey, thanks for your question. It's nice to know that someone else cares about the environment out there.
There you go. I'm glad I could help. :)

lol you make me laugh . You own a trucking company 10 to 1 you yourself drive a SUV and no doubt a nice big home with a pool air the hole 9 yards and I'm happy for you but please don't ask me to give up anymore then i already have until you give up what you have . Get a bicycle and ride it i do 90% of the time and im 51 years old . Its not only good for the air in the atmosphere its good for the air in your lungs . Insted of buying that big screen TV buy a solar panel . Start off with one panel at a time if you cant afford allot and add on . So you have solar panel for one light its a start . Tell people thats what you want for exmas or birthday a $50 dollar solar panel before you know it your house will be shining bright for free.

Haven't seen it and I don't care what any Hollywood celebrity has to say on global warming or anything else for that matter. That goes double for wussy boy celebs like Leo (or is it Leonara).
