May I consider "be a better planet" campaign a flop if my Sylvania bubble (sent by Yahoo, made in China) died after only 1 month of service?
What should I do with "lasts 7 years" mark?
I'd better buy 4 GE bubbles (made in USA) just for 1 buck. They will serve 2 months each.

Did you screw the bulb in by the glass part or hold it by its base?
I'm told the joint between the glass and base is rather sensitive.
I tried to verify this with a little research and was not able to find anything. However, if you still have your receipt (and the bulb), I'd get it replaced.

On the other hand, I have 12 CFLs in my house, and in 3 years 1 has burned out.
My house is also cooler because I'm not heating the house with lightbulbs, and that lowers my A/C usage.

The bulb may have been damaged during shipping. I went out and bought every light fixture in my home new CFL bulbs from Wal Mart. They were 78 cents each. You could buy a new TV or fridge and have it break down in one month.

I hope you didn't put the bulb in a dimmer. Dimmers will ruin most CFL bulbs.
