After I've done the dishes I wash out spaghetti bottles, etc. to recycle. Cans and 2 liter bottles I usually just drain thoroughly. Occasionally I get something like chocolate milk in a #2 and I do splash a little water in the bottle and rinse it so it doesn't smell. We usually have a small recycling bin by the back door; we take it to the separate bins in the back of the yard when it's full.

you don't need to wash them out unless you are worried that they might start to smell around your house. The first step after sorting the recyclables at the recycling plant is to wash out glass bottles and aluminum cans. So don't worry about cleaning them, they will do it for you. By the way with technology the way it is now, recycling is actually bad for the environment, we waste more energy to collect, clean, breakdown and removed recyclable materials than we would to make new products from scratch. Recycling is a good concept and is the way of the furture, unfortunately until our technology and means of recycling advances to a much further stage, it is only hurting the environment.

Hell no! I think it's enough to recycle practically everything here in Switzerland, they're a bit fanatical, which I guess in this regard is a good thing.

not necessary but do seperate lids and rings as they are either different material, different type/grade/color of material which affects the process
also it is better to reuse recycleables as much as possible before actually recycling it
ideas are: childcare centres, preschools love boxes, yoghurt containers etc for craft, community and sporting clubs collect different materials as well ie local army cadets collect bread rings for fundraising, pcyc/lions aluminum cans, community gardens paper and containers

you moreover might could evaluate different components such using fact the quantity of water used to offer the recent products of each and every merchandise rather of recycling them (using fact production of many products makes use of water someplace interior the approach) to boot as issues which comprise pollutants that result the components which could rather be increasing the severity of the drought interior the 1st place. ( which comprise worldwide warming led to by making use of the waste of many organic materials.) There are numerous issues factories, recycling facilities, and every day human beings can do to cut back back on their water utilization yet actually maximum water returns, inclusive of those in factories and recycle facilities is lower back back into the water cycle and isn't actually misplaced. That stated what motives maximum water to actual be "misplaced" is while it rather is fed on by making use of human beings, animals, and plant life. i think of it would be wiser to cut back back on the elevating of farm animals for meat in the time of a drought, clinical study have anticipated it takes around 2,500 gallons to offer a million pound of beef. So rather of forgoeing recycling i've got faith it would be extra logical to seek for the main wasteful, sgnificant drains on water,w right here this is not lower back to the enviroment, and concentration on those.

yep - just briefly, don't go at them with the washing up liquid or anything. I know some people who put glass containers (eg jam jars) in the dishwasher with everything else before they recycle them
