I am working on a project for my Project Lead The Way (PLTW ) class, which is a form of technology class where you can earn college credit.

For the project each student is required to pick a field of engineering they are interested in.
One of the required components is to ask an environmental engineer a series of questions about their career in this field of engineering.

If you are an environmental engineer interested in letting me ask you the questions please e-mail me at juan5225@yahoo.com

If you know someone who is an environmental engineer who would be willing to answer my questions I would be very grateful if you gave me their e-mail.

Thank You.

How energy-full is it in comparison with "gas"/petrol ?

As the plants take in CO2 in growing, and that gets freed
when the oil is burnt, there is no net gain in atmospheric
CO2 which would mean no greenhouse issues

Is this a feasible possibility for mass transport ?

Do you think it's real? Do you think it's caused by humans? Do you think the whole thing is a joke?

It's been proven over the past thousands of years that CO2 levels rise after temperatures rise. With that being said how can man be causing global warming if it's all about the CO2 amounts when the temperature started going up before the CO2 levels started to rise?

Alright I'm no Global Warming freak but ...
Hey I just wanna remind everyone to just switch their lights off a second earlier, unplug their phone charges (this can give enough energy to light 600,000 homes...did u see the ad for that fact?), and switch their tv's off standby so the power is off completely.

Also use ur own bags when shopping, use the rest of ur paper (or the other side of paper) for notes, plant trees and hav a bath with someone u love :P yeah...but it saves water :P

And you just killed the woodpeckers foraging grounds.. I made this observation just this morning.. I have a big ol pitch pine with 5 or 6 dead limbs on her.. I have procrastinated the deed of trimming off the dead limbs. This morning, while sitting on my front stoop I observed a red headed woodpecker have a field day filling his belly with an assortment of grubs and whatever.. Cool? Who would have thought? comments?

They are very smart animals and they seem to be doing well but will they be able to adapt to a warming climate in the coming seasons ahead?

Other than to p1ss off a load more people. Surely by now, anyone who thinks they can 'help the planet' would have got the message.

It always seems to be hippies of one sort or another; new age or the old 1960's types who show up at these events. They do nothing to motivate me into action. I have nothing in common with the tie-dye tee-shirt and wholemeal sandal brigades. So who else gets turned off by these protesters?

Please help settle an argument I'm having with my husband. He insists on running the tap for several minutes until the water gets warm, then filling the pan and setting it on to boil. He says it wastes less energy to start off with warm water, since it takes less time to boil. While this is probably true, I think it's worse to waste so much water and negates any environmental benefit we achieve with the energy savings. Certainly we can come up with other solutions (i.e. watering plants with the excess water that comes out before the tap water gets warm) but from a purely scientific standpoint, which of the aforementioned scenarios is better or worse? We've got dinner riding on this. Thanks!

And who do they come from? Currently, I think that Global Warming (or more accurately, Global Climate Change) is mostly due to humanity, ie that it would have happened anyway, but we're making it much worse. But there's not a lot better in the scientific community than a well informed, unbiased viewpoint, right? I mean, I'd be willing to admit that there have always been some hypocrites and liars that have supported what is in fact the truth, as there have been honest people supporting what is false. And vice versa. I just want to know what arguments have been made to prove that Global Warming is completely natural and who made said arguments so that I can be better informed.

Nature says survival of the fittest and only the strong will survive.. Thats what nature wants and the weak are all around us.. What if us humans have an undetermined mission. Its a big universe out there, ya know.. What if it needs to be that the smartest, brightest, healthiest propagate and increase intelligence in humans. It may be that their exists an intelligence you could never imagine, but can be only obtained through dysgenics.. Hitler attempted this, and tried to create a supreme race. This human history suggests many things.. Anyway, global warming will kill millions.. Humans will be streamlined and humans will be forced to use their intellect and make the right moves to save the human race. This may mean getting rid of the weak and stupid and only the healthy and intelligent get to ride..
