Mandatory, no but encouraged and with facilities in easy access to the public, yes. Making it madatory would just get people angry about their rights and such and cause more problems. Making a law that requires companies to OFFER recycling to its empoyees and guests, yes, that sounds more reasonable. I work at the Chicago sheddaquarium and people arent forced to recycle but recyling cans are placed all throughout the facility and acually gets a positive feedback from the public.

First, I agree that global warming isn't a concern- God made the Earth to heat up and cool down over different periods of time... not heat up to 200 degrees or cool to an ice age, but a natural cycle.
Secondly, I do recycle! Now what exactly do you mean? Mandatory to the employees by the employer or mandatory to the companies by the government? I don't think there's a problem with a company saying their employees SHOULD recycle but the government telling companies they need to.

I don't know that it should be mandatory as this often leads to resentment and a backlash against the principle itself.
People should certainly be encouraged to recycle and employers willing to make available facilities such as separate waste bags and bins. They can sell the reclaimed materials and offset the cost of providing the facilities.
At work we recycle everything possible, probably less than 5% of the total waste doesn't get recycled. If implemented correctly the schemes are very simple and effective.

I'm sorry, but I live in the United States. We have freedoms (at least we used to) that forbid the government to micro-manage my life. I am allowed to screw it up any way I see fit. My workplace has "voluntary" recycling, but if it was ever made mandatory, with penalties for violating policy, I would change jobs faster than they could blink, and they know it.
Why are there so many fascists out there who somehow think it is their job to tell me how to live my life? How many fascist and communist countries have to collapse before these people realize that this type government and control simply does not work?

Ah, yes - the true essence of "global warming".
How would mandatory recycling be enforced? Since the gvmt is in charge of enforcing the laws, this means that you would be forced to recycle by the force of a gun. Fail to comply and you would risk losing your money, your property, your freedom, or even your life.
After all, your life is nothing compared to the life of the planet, right?
But this is what we should expect when science fails and becomes a democracy instead of being objective. No longer do we need the facts to prove an argument correct, all we need is a "consensus" to tell us what we should do.

It already exists in Seattle. Try the King County website
And I think this is far from infringing on your constitutional rights. Give me a feakin break...
You can't throw your TV in the river neither. Should we take that to the supreme court?
Once again...selfishness rears its ugly head. "Global warming is a hoax and recycling is against my rights. "
Or maybe you are just too lazy to care.
