Well, no one really knows what will exactly happen but we can make predictions.

What could happen.

~ Mass animal extinction’s (by the year 2050 1 million animals could be extinct)
~ Mass Animal migrations (its already happening animals are moving up further north to cope with the changing area)
~ Raise in sea level (if Greenland or West Antarctica were to melt, the sea level could raise 20 feet. This would displace over 100million people. And those people would move to higher ground, overpopulating the rest of the world and it would put more stress on the environment)
~ Stronger Storms (the "Tropics" have seen 30% more category 4 and 5 storms in the past 30 years)
~ Global ocean currents can shift of stop. (With Greenland melting, millions of gallons of fresh water gets dumped into the sea. So this fresh water meets up the oceanic current that brings Britain and Europe its weather. The fresh water meets up the cold seawater falling to the bottom of the ocean. It makes the ocean water around it less salty so it takes longer for the water to fall to the bottom of the ocean, slowing down the natural process of the upwelling of ocean water. If this current were to stop, within 10 years Europe will go into an ice age. And since the current that brings Europe its weather also passes by North and South America the same effect could happen there.)
~ Spread of diseases.
~ New diseases appearing
~ Longer seasons.
~ Uneven precipitation distribution.

I could go on and on for days but if we don't act the world as we know it will be so different.

There is no danger to life from global warming. You are falling for the political fear mongers who want all your money. The idea that all water will dry up and all life will end is just ridiculous. There is not enough coal and oil in the world to put enough carbon dioxide in the air to cause anywhere near that much warming, even if we burned it all. Even Al Gore does not say that will happen, because that would be a lie. But he does say things that make you think things like that. He says global warming will subtly creep up on us unnoticed. He tells how if you drop a frog in a pot of hot water that it will quickly jump out, but if you put it in a pot of cold water and pot the pot in the stove and heat it up that the frog doesn't notice the slow temperature rise and never jumps out. He allows you to think that global warming is like a pot that will eventually boil all the water away without actually saying that. He lets your imagination make up the lie for him, so that if challenged on it later he can say he never told you that lie. But he is DEFINITELY counting on you to imagine the lie for him in a way that makes you THINK he told you. Politicians do stuff like that.

Global warming (but not as the press keep telling us) will happen and the planet will adapt as it has always done. We'll then see gobal cooling and the same will happen ........ were we are through-out this cycle I haven't a clue :)
We (the newspapers etc) keep looking back about 200yrs at most and that not even a 'brief moment' as far as the planet is concerned. No one knows what's going to happen and the scientific community haven't a real clue - they can only asume, guess and predict ..... and they're probably wrong :)

It won't destroy all life. If we don't do something now, things could happen in the next 50 years, defenitely. But some bacteria and plants thrive in the heat, so in theory they wouldn't die.

GEE! WHIZ! THE WAY THINGS ARE LOOKING RIGHT NOW! IT LOOKS LIKE THE EUGENICS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB CAUSING GENOCIDE AROUND THE WHOLE WORLD! NOW THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR BANK ACCOUNT THAN WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING WITH THE CREATURES OF OUR WORLD! WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO WAKE UP OUR PRECIOUS LEADER'S? IF WE HAVE ANY CONCERNED LEADERS OUT THERE THAT CARE! FOR ALL WALKS OF LIFE! IT IS A CRYING SHAME IF YOU ASK ME! THAT THEY SEE MONEY HAS MORE VALUE THAN THE BEAUTY OF OUR PLANET!

You're what people refer to as a politicians dream. People like you will gladly hand over their freedom to others as long as they protect you from some imaginary boogie man.

Politicians hope for more people like you.
