As far as the politicians are concerned it would just be a sign that the runners exerted themselves and ran too hard. They wouldn't admit to this being a sign of global warning.
As much as I believe in global warming, the only thing I do have a minor issue with, is that we have only been keeping weather records for minimal time - like 100yrs or so. We don't know if this is usual for the world, if there are these fluctuations in temperature and we won't know for 1000's of years until things are cycled through.

'Good question. We need to keep an eye out for changes in our environment.
It may or may not be. But for certain this type of muggy weather is unusual for the time of year (either Chicago or Minneapolis where another marathon took place with a high heat index Sunday).
Wise people tread humbly and cautiously when the cost of their action might be high (destruction of the natural world). It seems to be human nature to ignore such signs and go fourth as usual until it's too late.

No, it just means that it was hot. Weather is different than climate. For example, did the fact that last year Chicago had the earliest snow accumulation on record mean that global warming does not exist.

Not really.
Its whats happening then and it just happened to be hot.
Weather is what happens over a short period
Climate is hundreds of years of data averaged together.
So no one weekend of hot weather in Chicago doesn't really indicate global warming, just a heat wave late in the season.

Like stated so many times no you cannot relate this to global warming just like you can't relate all the Hurricanes in 2005 like Katrina to global warming. If that was the case then 2006 and this year we would of been another hell of a year for hurricanes, but no we've only had 4 HURRICANES!!!!!!! People give Al Gore and his douche bag scientist to much credit!!!
To: Mr Jello: I love the statement.. It was freakn awesome and so true. What if next may it drops to below freezing in AR, then what, just another weather anomaly. Gets to above 100 degrees in October.. OMFG!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S GLOBAL WARMING EVERYBODY RUN FOR THEIR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That happens every year someone dies or people go to the hospital. This has nothing to do with global warming.

And in a few days when the weather changes back to normal, will "global warming" be over?
Remember: If it's warmer than average - That's proof "global warming" is real.
If it's colder than normal - That's just weather, don't you know the difference?

Nope. It indicates a hot day.
Weather - what is happening to day.
Climate - the pattern of the weather observed over the years.

One day's weather can do anything.
But what you can say is that Chicago would do well to plan for hotter marathons, on average, in the future, because of global warming.

No, it is an indication that there are a lot of very stupid people out there that enjoy running in very hot weather. Even dumb animals know better.
