My latest blog says change is unchanging. It becomes a matter of degrees. So will global warming be ignorable or unbearable much more rapidly than the experts say?

Which of the following three scenarios are likely?

Response Option:
Since global warming is a myth, no it will not accelerate.

Reponse Option:
Maybe. But GW is not going to accelerate enough for me to worry about in my life time.

Reponse Option:
Things have a way of turning out different from what experts think. I think global warming will rapidly pick up speed. Maybe fifty years from now, Earth will look like Mars.

I was reading something today about a cycle the sun goes through called Super Maximum and Super Minumum, and as I understand it the activity on the sun now is heating and changing the environment of many plants not just ours. Is it possible these people running around yelling that the change in weather and global warming is due to gas guzzlers wrong?

my house only has electric, no gas. What is the best way to heat it, since i have to buy a new heater anyway. It only had baseboard which is wasting energy. I'm looking for the best way to save energy, even if i have to pay more now, and wait for the return on savings, thanks

I know Global warming is real and that more people than not believe in global warming in United States. Then why isn't anything happening. I mean, we are the American people. We are very willful. If we know something is going wrong, we jump to that issue and find ways to solve it, then what's wrong. Is it the government process that's failing us or what? I don't get it because i live in philly and a lot of people i see around me are going green. Some people here are taking quite a lot of actions actions.
Please think critically before answering this question. skeptics, please share me your view point too, but don't just say" Global warming is not real", give me reassoning. I really appreciate it.

Why do we not ask:
1) “How hot did it get before man-made global warming?”
2) “How much hotter is it now?”
This would give a more true indication of man’s contribution, would it not?

How can we speed up global warming or its effects? Preferably without dirtying up the air too much. Would nuking the ice caps help?

Humans will survive global warming and probably come out a better species because of it. Modern society isn't all that great; we don't protect our culture so why should we protect our economies?

Restoring the world to its natural state would work better if we rocked the boat. Global warming, if all the sayings are true, will spell disaster for much of the problem. Things fix themselves, so we should help this natural process!

Think about it with all the technology we have do you think that newspapers are wasting way too much paper? Think about it. It's like I don't know how much paper EVERY SINGLE DAY! And yeah people recycle but so many people don't I don't know I just don't really think it makes very much sence.

As I see it, its more important what we DON'T do than what we do do. We need to do less not more. (ie - nature doesn't really need our help, all we have to do is stop destroying it)

We simply need to occupy our seemingly insatiable need for doing things with things that don't pollute. (our hobbies seem to be almost as dangerous as our industries)

Your thoughts?

I'm conflicted. I'm not sure who to believe. There seems to be great facts from both sides of the argument concerning Global Warming. Some say yes there is Global Warming and the other is No there isn't. I'm thinking it might be somewhere in between. What do you guys think.

Some 2000 years ago Eratosthenes measured the diameter of the world.

Since then, virtually anybody worthy of the term "scientist" accepted the data and a round Earth.

It was ignorant "skeptics" who denied the science and the data who thought the world was flat.

It's the same with global warming. The data shows it's real, and mostly caused by us. Even Richard Lindzen accepts that.

Two summaries of the mountain of data:

http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report.html
summarized at:

And the resulting consensus of scientists:
