i always here people at my school talk about how global warming is such an important issue and all that, but each day they drive their cars to school because if they took the bus or carpooled they might not look "cool enough". am i the only one that sees the irony in that?

it seems to me like everyone is just waiting on some higher power to take control and, in the meantime, living as though everything's ok. to those who believe in global warming: what have you and haven't you done to help stop global warming, and what sort of transportation do you take to and from your workplace? again, from what i've seen, everyone i know just says that we shouldn't do this and that...but then they go out and do the same thing.

I've found information on federal tax incentives, but I'm particularly interested in rebates for equipment purchase and installation. The city of Austin offers this, and in other areas rebates are offered by the power companies themselves. I can't find info particular to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, or energy providers in DFW.

Please help me further these designs!

Remember the tsunami? The (poor) survivors flooded by the monsoon, out of the tents supplied by rescue agencies?

Remember the earthquake - the (poor) survivors queueing in the snow for a tent, 2 years later?

Did those stories make you want to do something practical to help (other than donate money to charity)?

I believe there's a much better way to help victims of disasters. I've launched a campaign
(www.the-alternative.org.uk)

(see: Project it - the design specifications for a MODERN, Weather-proof Emergency shelter...)

- it's a simple remedy a child could have come up with...
That's a very interesting point...so:
WHY isn't it being done?

If weather predictions are correct, we'll be crying out for better emergency / rescue services...
Therefore shouldn't we get our thinking caps on right now?
This IS a serious situation we're facing!

Projec it is going to take good brains to achieve...

So please get involved!

This world is filling up with all types of pollutions and environmental problems.

Pollution, global warming, endangered animal species, unbalanced ecosystem, deforestation, extinction, sea life extinction, floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and all types of odd
weather conditions........................all these are gonna increase, and at one point some 100 years from now........the earth will die out, killing mankind.

The questions is,will mankind be able to divert, stop or delay the ultimate collapse of planet earth and survive?

Will he?

PS: Also wanted to inform you all dear people, about the huge environmental damage we humans are up to.

Never heard about this technology. Does it work?
If it does, then how can hydrogen be related to gasoline conceptually?

If we are causing global warming due to our over usage of carbon gases, waistfullness, and ect...
Did the cavemen cause the ice age from making too many spears and open fires?
And did the dinosours cause an astroide to hit the earth and wipe everything out?

Or is "Global Warming" the earth adapting and repairing itself naturally like it has over and over again.

I am starting my own business making environmentally friendly women's jewelry out of recycled, re-used, and sustainably grown/harvested materials, and would like to open a business checking and savings account. I am very environmentally conscious and am having trouble finding a bank that offers decent rates, competitive fees, is environmentally conscious in their energy and materials usage, and invests only in businesses with equally progressive environmental practices.

I am also looking for an online-only bank, since they do not waste materials, space, and energy building branches which I don't need to use. I know there have to be a few out there, and I have found a few but they are unfortuantely in Europe and are not available to US citizens. Help!

We are obviously going to be running out of fossil fuels soon, within the next few hundred years...there is not enough corn or soybeans or palm oil in the world to delay this much longer...and there do not seem to be any other promising forms of energy in the world. Do you think there is hope, and if so what is it? Or should we simply just ignore the problem and put our faith in science discovering something new?

Down around Logan, Utah, there are huge cattle farms, and the methane pollution gets so bad driving has to be restricted. Saw the road signs on a visit there.

Methane from cattle is a Greenhouse Gas, but I never seem to hear about it, to speak of. Computer models all say CO2, CO2 CO2...never figure in what all the herds of cattle worldwide are doing not only producing CO2 as they breathe, but adding very large quantities of Methane, enough in some places to apparently cause visible smogs.

So, GW folks? Are so many cattle a problem, or not? What does the computer say? And what do scientists who deal with ALL the possible global warming gases say?

And has anybody added in all the methane lost in oil wells, and unburned in the vast flare-offs going on now?

Just curious, since it is supposedly a potent "greenhouse" gas, and yet I never hear of the computers figuring anything but about CO2. Wonder why?? Do I have a real beef?

I'm sure this'll ruffle a few feathers...

Say global warming is not man-made and this really is just a cycle that's naturally occuring (which I believe but don't send me hate-mail about that). What if 50 years from now we're back to square one and everything's fine. It'll kind of make those "doomsdayer's" sound like the Y2K folks did, right? Remember all the bags of grain we were supposed to buy?

Another scenario. What if global warming does take place to the point some scientists think it will. Aren't the effects of a lower population and increased ocean life going to make all the environmentalists happier. After all they're calling for us to stop having children and stop moving to the country and stop driving our cars and stop using up all their water etc.

I wonder why their parents didn't stop at "just one." Or maybe they did and they're just mad they didn't have a brother or sister............ HHHHHmmmmmmm.......... ;-P
