TO MAKE IT SHORT BUT ACCURATE:
No not at all !
The effect will be similar in cost of human lives and disruption of the world to a WORLD WAR. It is also about comparable regarding the economical impact.
This means heavy disturbances and deeply changed balance of the world but we will survive. This is for sure.

Well I guess that depends on who you beleive. There are some people who say that global warming is prophesised in the Bible (earth consumed by fire and all that sort of stuff), if they're correct then it could be interpreted as being an apocalypse.
Personally I prefer the scientific version of events which, despite everything the media throws at us, isn't necessarily as bad as it's made out to be.
Even in the worst case scenarios the world isn't facing an apocalyptic event for a very long time yet. These scenarios tend to be the realm of fantasists more than anything. The scioence paints a very different picture with temps rising by apporx 3°C during the course of this century.
Such a rise would have widepsread implications around the globe and for many will spell disaster. One of the biggest impacts would be the number of people forced to move or emigrate to avoid devastating floods, rising sea levels, crop failures, droughts, desertification, wildfires etc.
Although the consequences may be dramatic and affect more than half the world's population they won't be apacalyptic.
If you're concerned that global warming may bring about an end to the world then please don't be. Some aspects of the media and some individuals can be irresponsible in this respect and focus more on the dramatic rather than the mundane, the impression this gives many people isn't necessarily an accurate one.

From an extremely alarmist viewpoint, it is at least possible
There is evidence that runaway greenhouse effects may have happened in the past, with extreme consequences and mass extinction. But after millions of years the planet recovered. Some contend that earth could end up like venus, with a complete runaway effect. Competeing forces act on one of the most important buffers of CO2, the ocean:
concentration gradient and temperature are two of them
As concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere increases the oceans uptake more CO2. This does however lead to increased acidity of ocean water, which will be bad for ocean life.
As temperature increases water cannot dissolve CO2 as effectively, this is also true of other important gases.
If the oceans ever begin releasing more CO2 than they uptake, we could be in some real trouble.

The Apocalypse is a religious concept
with meteors falling from the sky,
that has yet have to happen.
Global warming is real and it is here,
but it does not imply the end of the world.
Maybe only the end of Humanity

No. Global warming is a scientific fact, not superstition.

according to this graph it could:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Global_Warming_Predictions_Map_2.jpg
that is the predicted temperature anamoly in 2100.
as defined in this graph:
http://www.17thparallel.com/vegita/global1.jpg
temperature increases/drops of several degrees (especially in such short time) would mark mass extinction of certain species. subsequently, species that depend on that food source would die, and so on until everything is dead. unless we had food stocks or developed genetically engineered plants (that could survive the heat) we're all pretty much screwed.
(assuming global warming is real)
