I beleive in GW (anthropogenic) as it's something I've spent many years studying and working with - objectively and from all angles. I don't have any political orientation.

There's an annual analysis compiled by World Opinion Report that compares political leanings and belief in global warming. Can't recall the actual figures but there is a far higher proportion of skeptics amongst Reps than Dems, about twice as high.

Skeptics are also more likely to live in southern states than northern, be white, male, either young or old but not middle aged, be of average intelligence, working (or retired) and be fans of Nascar racing. There's a whole load of other things as well that various surveys have turned up - makes for interesting reading if you like facts and figures.

The only thing global warming has to do with politics is that politicians are using it.

This is where what is obvious doesn't get taken care of because instead of acting, they are all trying to get the credit for being the ONE to fix the problem. Rather than working on it. I think one of the saddest movies I ever watched, was "AND THE BAND PLAYED ON". It was about how many people had to die, before AIDS was recognized. Because the Doctors where withholding information from each other, so that they could get the credit for the disease, and not the other doctor. While they played politics, AIDS became an epidemic.

THAT IS ALL THAT POLITICS IS DOING WITH GLOBAL WARMING. Confusing people. Making them think that maybe it's not real. Just like, people living in New Orleans aren't suffering.

Did you know that most hurricanes start in the Sahara Desert? Most 5th graders can tell you that. And the hotter the desert gets the more like a storm is to happen. The hotter the oceans get because they have less salt as the glaciers melt into them, the hotte they get too. This all adds to storms power. It is science. You study it in 5th or 6th grade.

The political part of this is the oldest debate in the world. By definition, reactionaries cling to dogma and excoriate the free thinkers. Progressives are somewhat more open minded, but then reject the old dogma when the facts show the truth. The reason there is a big popular debate is because this is quite a new idea and to overturn the old dogma will mean some big changes. The scientific debate has been over for some time now.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question. This is not a political issue, although some try to make it one. This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Conservatives who have studied the science also know the truth:

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”

Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. "I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."

Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart Company

There's vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

I believe global warming is occurring, but not to the extent that is reported. Its a natural process of the earth which is coming out of ice age, so naturally the earth is warming.
Scientists are wrong every day and not all of them believe that it is man made. They predicted two bad hurricane seasons in a row and they never materialized. hmmm, imagine that...they were wrong. Whenever a big to-do is made about something in the media, I like to remember: Y2K, Ebola, West Nile Virus, the Bird Flu, Global Cooling in the 1970's ... all the things that were supposed to ravage the US but never did.

The big problem is that there are still many people don´t believe that global warming is real. But investigating a lot I am 100 % sure that it is real. Thousends of scientists can not be wrong. I have a lot of videos in youtube, even a HBO documental witch is very intersting. If you want, check it out and watch it. I also recorded many news from the tv etc.

While I am fairly confident that the current projections of organizations such as the IPCC are correct, and anthropogenic global warming is actually occurring, I do not completely discount those who offer alternative theories. I however feel that the problem is too big to take a "wait and see" attitude towards it. Not to mention, the amount of ecological problems that exist outside of global warming are so numerous, that there is no reason NOT to adopt a more ecologically conscious lifestyle and society.

In other words, whatever we do to fight global warming will have tangible benefits to other important areas, regardless of the accuracy of global warming projections.

My view on global warming is that we ought to ram the flags of every country who is trying to pitch em beneath the polar cap as if it was the moon, right up their proverbial mhmm's.

I stagger in the middle. I get a better view from there.

I think global warming is a natural cycle and not man made. The earth goes through cycles like it has for millions of years.

Well the fact that that beaches are still where they've been for as long as anyone can remember makes me think it's all a sham. And it's not just the ocean levels. There is NOTHING bad about our CURRENT situation even though we've been pumping out apparently dangerous amounts of CO2 for over 100 years.

Taking a look at the history of things people worry about, they almost always turn out to be not true. Global cooling, anthrax, shark attacks, west nile, communism, aliens, terrorists, ect...

I'm independent.
