NASA's long range solar forcast is predicting "one of the weakest (solar cycles) in centuries" and the next cycle is starting late. If CO2 remained the same and solar cycle 24 and 25 were duplicates of cycles 5 and 6, would the Earth cool down?

According to the world's leading climate scientists it's now very unlikely that we can limit global warming below 2 degrees Centigrade which is predicted to lead to up to 3.2 billion people will face water shortages and up to 600 million will face hunger.

What can we do about this? Will the countries least affected by devastating climate change be prepared to open their borders and welcome all these people who no longer can live where they used to? For some reason I doubt it and I find it extremely unfair that some of the "lucky" countries is historically those who has contributed the most to global warming.

Comments please?

If we were to eliminate all energy waste could we greatly lessen our impact on nature, and by these conservation methods also provide ourselves with all the energy we currently need?

Imagine something as simple as having street lights that use a fraction of the energy that conventional types use.
LED lighting might soon provide this reality. Or, imagine turning off all the lights when not really needed! Look at all the public municipal buildings that leave their lights on all night long with nary a person in sight. I would bet that millions of watts are being 'burned' away needlessly, in a thousand cities---as we speak! Look at all the 'stand-by' electrical appliances that use power in their hiberbating state. Worse yet, look at all the computers that are left on for no good reason. We have the technology folks: it's our fingers flipping a switch to the OFF position. I ask; could our current (no pun intended) energy needs be met by simple conservation methods ?

The Mediterranean climate I live in in coastal California is pleasant, but the weather we have during the long dry season between May and Oct. or Nov. can be boring. Absolutely no rain, and virtually the only clouds we see during that time is fog.
If you like variety of weather, Mediterranean climate is not for you

The used saftety razor blades(double edged, double side) create a disposal problem in this part of the land. I do not like to thro them in the dust bin.
Is there a method by which we can sharpen them & reuse?
Any one knows how they are sharpened during manufacture ? Is a steel ribbon is cut to shape & sharpened or is it a sharpend ribbon ?
How is it 'platinum tipped' ?
Any help is appreciated.

If nobody ever trimmed the bottom branches off trees, they would probably never fall over, even in most hurricanes, and we would live in a root system, wouldn't we ? Think how different it would be !
