Im a hairdresser by the way. what do you think the environmental benafits would be if you did not go to work, or help the economy in any way? we may slow down global warming untill we realise that everyone has no longer got a job. Then war starts. nuclear no doubt.

Hair is rich in nitrogen & great added to a composting unit, so I would miss out on all the free "compost" that the local hairdresser saves for me.Therefore there would be NO environ-"mental" benefits in my garden!.

Depends, any benefits would have to be weighed against the increase in electricity used to manufacture the extra shampoo needed. The damage the shampoo caused the environment and many more factors, possibly heating savings and so on.
Besides perhaps we should just use scissors!

Reduction of landfill space used by cut hair, since very few people compost hair.
edit:
Actually, hairdressers would still have jobs, all that hair would still need styling with dyes, curlers, etc.

there would be a BIG positive outcome, because less electricity would be used,if nobody went to the hairdressers, but people would be using electricity in their own homes so.....
and their would be a larger demand for shampoo!

Just possibly the huge savings in carbon capture would offset the invasion of fur-balls and tumble-weeds. Oh and sales of drain unblocker would rocket!

I keep my hair longer in the winter and shorter in the summer for the reasons above, and comfort. It sounds sad I know, I just find it easier than being vain.

it would save polution into the water system through dyes and bleaches it would also save water and electricity, secondly the hairderssers would not be able to afford to drive round in those silly fake 4x4's saving carbon emmitions.
GROW YOUR HAIR!

we might buy fewer hats but would have disadvantages...more blocked drains, more shampoo production, more plastic brushes and comb production, more hoovers
or we could be like cave men and not wash or comb and that would be well eco friendly
