The consumer is not a homogenic mass,
Car makers are pre-empting European legislation, which they lobbied hard against. They deserve no browy points.
Walkers is only responding to the market, don't forget green is trendy, we'll have to wait till a competitor puts a carbon footprint label on thier crisps before the labels will serve any purpose. I can't see the great crisp buying public all checking the the footprints of competing crisps.
The business world is following suit sometimes with legislators doing thier bit as middle man. At best some of them will be pleased it is commercially possible to go green, For those that it wasn't possible, well, they went bust.
If you express your opinion with your wallet, or lack of it, then well done.

Probably not by much for most people.
The reduction in CO2 emissions will come from a reduction in fuel use so expect most of the people who buy more eco-friendly vehicles to be doing so because of economics not the environment (i.e. they want to save money on petrol) and so you can also expect them to drive more often than they would in a gas guzzler (they'll still emit less overall, just not as much less as you'd expect if you assumed their use of the car didn't change).
Rather than reducing CO2 emissions we really need to be looking towards eliminating them through better technology.

I hope so. If people won't do it to save the planet, then maybe they'll do it to save some money (as below). I do think a lot of companies are jumping on the green bandwagon a little, but if they're truly cutting their carbon at the same time then that's all that matters.

I think this is just a waste of time and money and is doing more harm to the economy and people's lives then is necessary considering co2 is not a pollutant, and is doing little to the climate.
it is creating more hardship on people and guilt then is necessary or fair.
it is based on lies., there is a hidden agenda, and it is a distraction from the real issues (genocide, wars, other serious pollution, like mercury, lead, cadium, benzene by products, radioactive materials, government and corporate corruptions, dumping of the oceans with trash big time)
it is designed ultimatly to lower our standard of living it has nothing to do with global warming and even if we all stopped producing co2 from cars utilities etc today it won't have any impact on climate considering it has nothing to do with it.
it is being used as weapon of money acquistion and overregulatiing of our lives and goods and services.

My carbon footprint is truly irrelevant compared to the global organisations such as ICI, and Shell. When they start showing real concern as opposed to just using the global warming bandwagon as just another corporate moneymaking scheme, I'll start helping....

icecaps melt due to uv rays reaching earth due to ozone layer depletion, and the lesser rate of snowfall. CO2 varies little in the atmosphere to be significant. all nonesensical to me.
