Propane, wood releases a lot of nasty particulates when burnt while propane burns relatively clean.

Note to idiots who think the particulates don't matter: they cause a lot of problems for humans, including cancer.

Note to Superman: You're a crackpot. It costs quite a bit less to demolish a nuclear power plant than the plant makes in its life (people have already done it) and the power source you think will replace it violates the laws of of physics. Wood is best and has the least carbon.
True it does give off particulates which ultimately fall to the ground and enrich the soil where propane is a by product of oil which is much older (millions of years vs wood at 35 to 65 years) thus a much larger carbon footprint not including all the processing steps along the way to make it usable.
Wood you just chop, drop, dry and plop into the fire.
