Electric cars are the future/ GM built them 20 years ago and destroyed them to keep oil as car fuel. See video Who Killed The Electric Car. Rent it at Holllywood Video.

A friend of mine (as well as a letter to the editor I recently read) said that the meat industry hurts the environment. How is this so?

(I am not a vegetarian, but an explanation of this would be yet another reason for me to become one)

Thanks.

The land pits left after the extraction of the bauxite is not useable and no one especially the Americans bother to investigate the effects on the citizens in the surrounding areas especially children.
The biggest problem is that they consider these countries as being THIRD WORLD and as such there need be no consideration to the citizens. Now they are yelling about WATER RIGHTS with the BC Montana border. WOW!!!!

When my house is quiet which is always at night (and sometimes in the day when the kids aren't around!) if I lie still in my house I can hear a distinct high pitched sound. (My husband cannot hear it but my Mum can.) It is continuous and similar in tone to the noise you get when taxiing down the runway at an airport but obviously quieter and I would say higher pitched.

It is definitely NOT electrical as when we have the frequent powercuts in our village I can still hear it. I live in a village on a hill in the UK. And I can assure you I am NOT barking!

Any sensible ideas?

I mean, I didn't realize that the temperatures in the artic, ect. were exactly 32.F and know that the temperature has rised .1 degree F it is now 32.1F and it's all melting... How does this slight rise in temp. gonna end up killing everyone? I think its just a little exageratted... It's not like the world hasn't ever fluctuated in temperature.

For millions of years, our planet has gone through major climate changes. The only difference between this climate change and the ones before is that there are way more humans living on this planet now. Why can't we just adjust to the change like we've adjusted to the climate changes in the past? The world is going to continue to change whether we are ready for it or not.

If celebrities can pollute by flying private jets, why is that OK?
They can walk and ride bikes like they want the rest of to. Are all pigs equal, but more some pigs more equal than others.
Aren't carbon ofsets just a way to pollute and live the same lifestyle--still polluting as much as before-- but telling the rest to conserve. It makes me angry for Al Gore to get an award and then see all the private jets in the airport. Arnie flys and plants trees? How many thousands of trees does it take? Anyone figure it out?

I have heard that the process to grow organic peanuts (and turn it into organic peanut butter) is worst for the environment than conventional peanuts. Anyone heard of this? I like to make choices that are going to help our environment and that's been on my mind since I love organic peanut butter.

With millions os people dying from trhe lack of basic foodstuffs, the "digitalized" planers wish us to believe that the world is capable od growing enough corn etc., to make bio-plastics in a siqnificant quantity? If we don´t drastically increase the production of foodstuffs and portable water, greeanhouse gases, excess plastics and access to the internet will become totally irrelevent to the survival of the human race.
