Whenever I go out walking I pass farms where there is tons of rusting machinery, old cars and tractors plus all sorts of other junk. Why don't farmers get rid of the stuff - I know it'll cost them - but hey wouldn't it make the countryside look even nicer!

I just saw an article that gives a bunch of reasons NOT to use corn-based Ethanol. Especially since it's one of our base grain foods. Why aren't they going with Biodiesel - the veggie van, that was a great example. Plus in Texas, there's a ton that runs all of their garbage trucks off greenenergy made from their landfill. Which they've in turn made into a fuel processing area. If you watch YouTube there are tons of alternative energy choices we could be making in the US. How do we get more people to discover what we have the ability to do now; then while we set it up and use it, continue to try improving it.
Why is it that things that make sense are so hard to get acted upon?

I think there is, not the monstrous creatures or little green men you see on Holywood movies... I also was thinking about; I don't think that H2O or CO2 is needed in order for there to be life I mean there could be other elements that men doesnt know about that can be used in order for there to be life, maybe that's just me..

and yes i believe that there is life out there somewhere, it might need what earth has in order to mantain life, but there could be other ways besides water and oxigen.

Will we build underwater kingdoms?

that I haven't had a single big massive daddy long legs in the house. Why is this; could it be down to climate change (I have tinkered with the central heating thermostats) or global warming?

And hands up anyone who's spotted any of those big black furry caterpillars last summer? Used to see them all the time when I was a kid, but I haven't seen one for years.

Should we be worried?
Or should I just go to bed?

Aw, I won't be able to sleep for the panic.

I am looking for reviews of Green & Organic products. I also would like to find the best prices on them. I have seen a lot of web sites and I overwhelmed by the amount of information.

Specifically,

Health & beauty products for men (deodorant , shampoo, etc.)

Cleaning products

CFL light bulbs (I need at least one that go work on a dimmer)

I recently heard from my uncle (who is an earth scientist/ university proffesor) that there was a gathering of 300 or so scientists who have been monitoring the suns activity and have noticed that sunspots are increasing and that the sun is slowing down its rotation. The suns rotation is apparently what cools it , and when it eventually stops turning (predicted as sometime in 2012) it will continue heating up in its core until it eventually explodes. As such the earth will be plunged to -40 (celcius) temperatures and of course into darkness.

And on a slightly off topic note; isn't it coincidental that so many religions , civilizations and prophets have predicted the earth ending in 2012? So; what are your guys thoughts?

Using Los Angeles smog as an example. It sounds like people don't understand how the ozone in smog is formed. My understanding is that when you have incomplete combustion in engines, you get not only carbon monoxide but also ozone. Instead of CO2, you get CO plus O. O is ozone, one atom of oxygen. In the air, when O meets CO they merge again to form CO2. So O neutralizes carbon monoxide. Is that the way you see it? Do you view ozone as a harmful pollutant?
